Default Work at Asian Food Place - Rice and Veggie Diet?

i work at an asian food place that serves up tons of different dishes, including lots of sushi (something im not really into) but ive noticed i am gaining lots of weight. Im finally disciplined enough to go into diet mode. had my final unhealthy meal just now (chicken club with bacon and some pie)

Is there a good combo of veggies and meat for a good balanced diet that will bring my weight down and increase metabolism?

Looking to loose weight as the start of a body makeover.

The place you're probably picking up empty calories is in rice. Given that you work in an Asian food place, you've got excellent access to good foods. Look for things that stick in your stomach. Rice does not, and it causes a high insulin response that tells your body to start storing fat. Stick to steamed or lightly fried veggies, chicken, fish, beans and legumes. Try to consume as many natural foods with fiber as you can, as they make you feel full without giving you digestable calories.

Good foods you'll probably have access to:
Baked/boiled/grilled/stir fried chicken, shrimp, fish. Tofu. Spinach, broccoli, chickpeas, soybeans (edamame).

Foods to avoid:
Sticky rice (high gi, high cal, few other nutrients). White rice in general. Sugary drinks.

Many places serve brown rice-- a whole grain. The Asian foods like sushi are fattening in a different way than you think. They have lots of salt (sodium) like in the soy sauce. Salt has no calories but is more fattening than fat or carbs. If you eat 4 ounces of fat, you will live. Consume 4 ounces of salt at one time and you will die! So your fat is water weight that is worse than fat.

I had never heard of salt as fattening. Is the idea that you retain more water weight?

Maybe for white people. Asians do consume a ton of salt (and carbs, even refined white rice) and manage to stay slim. When I visited Japan, they hardly ever served water at restaurants. I only got a tiny glass after multiple requests.

The governor of CA learned that salt, coffee and some drugs make you look fat and weigh more due to the water weight. Water weight looks worse on someone than fat. It makes you look bloated all over. You can't lose 10 pounds of fat in 5 days but can lose 10 pounds of water weight in 5 days. The reason that you never heard of it is because humans have low intelligence and lots of issues. That is why there is a weight problem. My webpage tells all about water weight.

Now Asians do not have much of problem with weight. Studies have shown that things in tea besides caffeine help get rid of excess weight like the EGCG in it boosting metabolism. Asians drink only tea, no water-- at least the Chinese do. They have 25 different kinks of tea depending on fermentation and what they add to it. No studies on this but I believe that tea helps your body get rid of salt faster.

You left out black people. They (generally speaking) consume a lot of salt and are the fattest ethnic group in America. They have the highest blood pressure. Also Asians get the highest SAT scores in America and blacks get the lowest SAT scores in America.

Asians eat a lot less food than Americans. Someone did the numbers and found that the average person in China eats 1/7th the food of the average person in America. A woman from Japan said that Americans consume lots (obscene amounts) more food than Japanese and create much more trash.

veg would be a better choice over rice. rice has lots carbs and sugar. if you are a bag fan of rice, you can have limited amount a day.
