Default OCD, Graves Disease

Does anyone have OCD?

I've long suspected I might have it, and one psychiatrist thought I had it.

I have a lot of really negative thinking patterns that take over my life. My other community calls it PBT (Pretzel Brain Twisting). It's a kind of negative mental masturbation. I can literally sit for hours and get no work done because I'm so caught up in my PBT. My thoughts are very loud at times and I can't push them away.

I can't have a normal relationship without obsessing over every nitpicky detail and trying to extract meaning from it, the only time I was able to was when I was taking Paxil. My other community described this tendency as Pretzel Brain Twisting, when you try to analyze someone's behavior usually because the person is not stepping up and doing the work in the relationship, but I realize that I PBT pretty obsessively. I've even PBTed my way out of perfectly good relationships.

I had to leave my relationship communities because they were actually making me PBT worse over relationships. I need to pretty much avoid relationship communities and burn all my relationship books!!

It has taken over my life at times. I compulsively think, overthink, thinkthinkthink - mind always racing. I hate it sometimes. I can't stop the thinking.

One of the reasons I thought OCD is because this stuff seems to be greatly relieved on Paxil (which was prescribed for other reasons).

I was actually able to get through school for a while, when I was on Paxil; I was later diagnosed with ADHD and put on Adderall, while this helped with some things, my PBT got way worse.

Additionally - I have Graves' Disease, I'm wondering if anyone's ever heard of a correlation with OCD? But I've had OCD tendencies a lot longer.

I have a question for you. Do you just want to talk about it and continue to suffer or do you want to cure this problem and be happy? Actually almost everyone has this problem and that is why they are not happy. But every person has the free will do something about it. I will not feed your PBT, but I can help you to stop if you want.

You need peace of mind to be happy. Peace of mind comes from not thinking. There has been lots of studies on this. The Positive Psychology Network studies how to be happier. The director of it is Professor Seligman. He learned how to create depression in animals and wrote a book about it called Learned Helplessness.

Then he came up with a cure for depression (not caused by brain tumors or somethng like that). He was elected as president of the American Psychology Association by the widest margin ever. To learn more about why your problem is not so special but is common and how you can really be happy, see this site. Enlightenment and Happiness There are things that you can do to help this.

This site says: " A very famous American psychologist, Abraham Maslow (1908-1970), said 'I can feel guilty about the past, apprehensive about the future, but only in the present can I act. The ability to be in the present moment is a major component of mental wellness.' " Do you want to be happy or just come up iwth titles to call your problems?
