I have a few questions about biphasic sleep that I couldn't find an answer to. I read on these forums that the nap should take place no more than 5 hours prior to the core sleep. Why exactly is this and how important is it for the two to be this close together? Wouldn’t that make you really tired during the late afternoon, hours before the nap? And for all of you that are trying this out, what's the sleeping schedule that best works for you? Thanks! |

Well I think it would be because the nap is much shorter, it would not keep you awake as long as the core sleep would, so this is why you have it later rather than earlier. So your core sleep might keep you going for about 3/4 of the day while your nap would keep you going for 1/4, just estimating I haven't worked it out.
