For years I've been occasionally experiencing something quite weird at night as I lie in bed waiting to get to sleep. It only happens maybe 4 or 5 times a year so it doesn't bother me much, and when it happens I usually end up just getting up and making myself a drink or watching TV or something and the weird sensation stops after a short while. If I just lie in bed though and try to ignore it it does not go away and can get a bit irritating. I just thought this forum might be a good place to ask if anyone else has ever experienced this. What happens is hard to explain but it happens while I am fully awake so it's not that I'm dreaming. In my mind I start to see images of myself, or not quite see so much as feel myself and half see myself getting extremely tall, then a second later getting extremely small, then fat, then thin, then tall, and I feel like I'm morphing into all sorts of shapes and sizes. If I don't manage to get my mind of it fairly quickly I end up almost feeling seasick because the sensation is so weird and realistic. If I turn on the light and look around my bedroom that doesn't help either because I start to feel like not just me, but the whole room is going into weird shapes and sizes. Before anyone asks, I don't drink or take drugs so that's not an explanation! I have no idea what causes it. Can anyone explain this or has anyone else here had similar experiences? |

I've listened to the podcasts and read some articles and this is the first time I looked at the forums - this post caught my eye. What you describe sounds a little bit like something I have occasionally experienced - mostly as a child in fever dreams, but once or twice as an adult. Where I'll be laying an bed half conscious and sort of feel huge and dangerous and unweildy but then thin and fragile and delicate - it's combined with a feeling of unease and slight dread. Also related is at times when I get very tired I reach a point where it's like I lose my depth perception and everything looks very far away or very close up, like I'll feel like I can just reach out and grab something that is actually several yards away, or that something right in fornt of me is miles off. Possibly related to something called Alice in Wonderland Syndrome (no joke) Alice in Wonderland syndrome - Wikipedia |

Your best bet is to study meditation techniques through which you can better understand how the perception tool operate in the mind. There is the 3rd eye as it is called and there is also the imagination orb. These two psychic vision tools can cause the visions you are having. I just released a book with detailed methods and diagrams about this. See it at: https://www.createspace.com/Customer....do?id=3380228 Amazon.com: Meditation Pictorial: Michael Beloved: Books |

But anyway, I do confirm that there is a sense of deep dread and almost primal fear and nausea and a sensation that I am like a huge thing balanced on something extremely fragile like the head of a pin standing vertically. Or that my arms are tiny and razor-thin but the rest of me is large. The most common manifestation with me is that I am a whale eating tiny tiny articles of food. It isn't an actual visual problem like described in the Wikipedia article, but a mental perception. Very often when falling asleep. I thought I was the only one. Jennifer | |

I should also mention that it is mainly my head that feels like it is changing shape, although sometimes it is the rest of my body too, but more so my head. It feels like my head is an enourmous ball on a tiny body, then it feels like my head is tiny but the rest of my body is normal, more or less. |

This is very interesting. As a kid, until maybe the age of 12, I had a similar recurring experience. I always thought it was a recurring dream. I would be either close to sleeping or actually sleeping, and suddenly be able to have tactile perceptions with my entire being instead of with some part of my body. It felt like I was zoomed in on something and able to feel the sharpness/dullness of my entire being against it. It was very unusual to "feel" without touching, but just via being. I had previously explained it away in my head, thinking that maybe I was doing something like rubbing my tongue along my teeth, or my fingertip along the bed, and dreaming of the sensation at the same time. |

| Haha, yeah I love describing this stuff on forums because there's always someone who goes "DUDE! Me too! I thought it was just me!". It turns something that makes you feel very alone into something that actually makes you feel closer to other people |
