I seem to have a headache today related to fasting. After researching, I find that this is normal on the first few days! "The important thing to remember is that during detox many of us have headaches and nausea. While I don't like having killer headaches, it helps to remind myself that my body is just cleaning house. When you vacuum, you stir up a little dust and you sneeze. When you clean out your body, there's no telling what's in there, and it isn't pleasant, but the feeling of contentment and healthy you feel when you're detoxed and eating good healthy food is awesome. Good luck with the headaches. Just remember that if it stayed in, you'd have worse than headaches. That was something that I held on to during the first two weeks." It's not related to dehydration, for I've been drinking TONS of water. It could be related to low blood sugar levels, though! |

I've never seen the point of these detox diets, your kidneys and liver do that job for you anyway.

When you say detox, I think green veggies and colorful fruits and tons of water. The Warrior Diet is simply eating one major meal at night in an attempt to optimize your body's natural metabolism. The point of this diet isn't to detox, but rather to get ripped and have more energy. |

I usually have headaches when I make changes to my diet. It subsides in time... but those first two days require the most willpower because it's always tempting to revert back to old habits to rid yourself of the pain. Good luck!

Low blood sugar is rare. It is a disease and not normal. But the cleansing symptoms of fasting feel the same just as if you stop smoking. Here is the purpose of detoxifying. The body gets toxins from eating and produces metabolic toxins from digestion. That is what modern medicine teaches. So here is an analogy (even though it is a side effect and not your purpose). I do volunteer work at a place that gets donations and sells the stuff in their store and give the money to AIDS groups. They sell everything but more of clothes than anything else. With the other things, they put the stuff donated in the store the same day that they get it. They get so much clothes that they put the bags of clothes in a warehouse to go through. Note the body is cleansing and detoxifying everyday especially while you are sleeping. Now if in the warehouse they process the clothes slower than the rate that they get it, the pile grows. That is what has been happening. Has it stopped the place from operating? No! But the pile is now a massive mountain that is about 30 feet high and 50 feet wide. There is barely enough room to get through. If it gets bigger there will be no room to walk by it and people will need to climb over it which will slow things down. But if they stopped taking donations for a while, they can reduce the pile. So if your body is keeping up with the amount you are eating, then it is fine. But usually people eat way too much and the the mole hill of toxins is growing into a mountain. This is called degenerative disease. The ones that get worse as you get older. Half the people in America over 85 have dementia. So it is probably from a mountain of toxins. In Natural Hygiene, they call this the cause of almost all health problems. They call it "toxemia." When you fast, the body has a chance to get rid of excess toxins or play ketchup, I mean catch-up.

To KtotheB: Thanks, that's very reassuring that theres nothing wrong with me! To ginkgo: Thanks for that whole lot of information! I never knew toxins worked in that way. As for everyone else, today we had my birthday party so I was not able to follow the Warrior Diet. I know it may seem like a lack of willpower, but it was difficult due to timing constraints and Ori Hofmekler said a day off is no perfectly fine occasionally. I'll start again tomorrow. Thanks guys for following this! |

Saturated fats also promote testosterone production and inhibit estrogen production ... aware? This "Diet" is not a diet at all, it's a fad that will pass. Ori picks and chooses what he call his "research". Use the phrases like "Researchers say" and "evidence shows" doesn't show anything ... where are the results? Who are the researchers paid by? What evidence shows that humans are nocturnal eaters? The circadian clock that this guy blabs about has our body temperature at it's lowest in the evenings ... around 10PM which is also when the body's melatonin production is highest which is the time that the body is meant to rest ... not digest huge meals. To call human beings hunters/gatherers couldn't be farther from the truth. Evidence: Compare humans to other hunters on this planet ... do we have claws, sharp teeth, the ability to run anything down? Human beings are not built to hunt in the wild. This "diet" is cute ... but nothing more than marketing and business. Give a diet a manly name and men will flock to it and throw lumps of cash away to become a "warrior" ... I assume a "gladiator" diet will be out soon. Maybe I'll start that one. |

| I'm going to have the kindly disagree with you. It's neither a fad, or a diet. To me, it's a lifestyle change. Though neither Ori nor I can give you proper scientific evidence and research, the effect it has had on our bodies is all that matters. Ori has a six pack and is healthy, vibrant, and energetic. He is nearly of retirement age. For the couple of days that I've been on the Warrior Diet, my head feels clearer, my energy levels have been up, my hormones and libido have been in check, and I just feel happier overall. I do believe that the ease to which my body adapted to this "diet" has at least proven to me that it is efficient. Quote:
It certainly hasn't marketed well, as I wasn't able to find Ori's books at any bookstore in my city (I live in New York) and all the resources were online. MANY people have been living this way for YEARS, including Ori Hofmekler (5% bodyfat), Arthur DeVany, (70+ years old, can still dunk), and many more. |

Human beings on the whole are not hunters ... your point about a tribe is moot because it is an extreme. When conducting research, extremes are eliminated. Call it what you will, lifestyle in your case, but this is another passing fad. It's another opportunity for someone to make money ... that's all it is. Ori can have his six pack, but so can so many others living so many others lifestyles. This is no better nor worse than anything else out there. For the record ... it's not really fair to call this a lifestyle if a few days in you fail. |

Don't worry, I won't fail. Anyway, today's undereating phase has been relatively easy so far. One tip for those trying out the Warrior Diet is to drink a lot of water to ease your hunger pangs. They'll pass in the coming days! Cheerio! |

This morning, I am FILLED WITH ENERGY! I feel absolutely spectacular, and even a bit high! Tonight I plan to eat pretty unhealthy... fried dumplings, fried rice, and a ton of fruits and veggies. And yes, I still plan to wake up tomorrow morning with energy and fat loss! The Warrior Diet is INCREDIBLE. |

I like the Warrior Diet too. The hungry feeling, even mentally hungry, is very powerful. I think it's not healthy forever, though. Yes, in times of crisis the body will be extremely alert and focused, but every day? At least I never made it over a month. I tried twice.

Hey there, Just wanted to post and say keep it up! I've followed the Warrior diet unintentionally and intentionally twice in my life. The first time I was 18 and it just happened that way because of school and my job at the time. I worked at a beach cafe and had to wear a bathing suit all day (I'm a gal) and didn't want any bloating so I would run every morning and drink water all day until I got home and ate the most massive dinner ever! lol. I remember being very lean and I never even thought about calories. Fast forward 8 years later and I'm sure not that anymore. I've tried to follow the 'eat 5-6 meals/day' business, counted calories/points, eat breakfast, skip lunch, eat dinner, etc. and done endless hours of exercise but I couldn't get my eating under control. I despise counting calories, it makes me crazy which leads to binging. I also hate being hungry when I go to bed which would lead to binging. Which made me research the web for eating one big meal a day like before. Warrior diet! It is THE most awesome 'diet' out there. No counting, no worrying, only eating to your heart's content at night and going to bed to sleep like a baby. My brother, he's 24 and diabetic, is unknowingly doing this. He skips breaky, has a protein drink around noon, and eats tons of meat and veggies at dinner. He only takes his insulin once in the morning now whereas he was taking it all day before and he's dropped like 40lbs in 2-3months. He was trying the 'body-builder' lifestyle type eating before and wasn't losing anything..while boxing and doing circuit training. Long post to say don't knock it till you try it. I love eating like this. I don't see how it could be unhealthy if you're getting a wide range of food at night. There is so much push of the Canadian food guide and eating a trillion times a day..but that's not to say it's right. I've tried what everyone else does for years, while working out, and I'm still not where I want to be body wise. It doesn't work for me. So I say screw it, this works for me. I don't care what other people say. And one more thing, a lot of permanently lean people eat this way. I've met them and eventually the cat is let loose and they'll tell me they skip a meal, or skip many meals or whatever. |
