I think that this guy John Stone is very inpiring. He was 42 years old and a bit overweight when he decided to start training. He documented it with daily pictures that he put online. Take a look! Main site Kind of cool right? IMO he should have stopped building muscles a couple of years back. Now he looks kind of weird. I tried to link directly to the daily images but were directed to the main site. The daily images are available in the pictures menu. Scroll to the bottom of the page. |

That's awesome. I'm aiming for the same type of goal, although I'm not interesting in getting huge. I'd just like to trim my body fat and add muscle tone. As an aside, does anybody else notice that with every single "transformation" sequence that the hairstyle always changes as well? I don't mean that in a skeptical way, I just find that so odd that changing the body also brings about a change of hairstyle. |

He looks great!, Amazing how much his body changed in such a short period of time. About the hair.... He became very focused on his looks. The hair is a very important part of that, and he does look better blonde. Nothing can change a persons looks, (other than weight,) as much as how they wear their hair. I have a friend with the most beautiful long thick wavy hair. Men always flock to her. She once asked us girls why, and we all said, "IT'S YOUR HAIR!!" The most common looking girl looks beautiful if she has beautiful hair. And all us women know the mental plunge we take if we get a bad hair cut. It's the Samson complex: Cut off your hair and lose all your strength. If you've beach traveled at all you all know the girl on the beach with the long beautiful hair. The more she is in and out of the ocean the better she looks, and her face may very well be average. All us average haired girls long for what she has, and she wouldn't trade it for a prettier face in a million years. Your hair can make or break your looks. Period. So if you improve your body, it's natural you would work on having better hair too. I am speaking about women. Bald can be beautiful on men. Look at Agassie or Ed Harris. But can you picture Brook Shields with short curly frizzy hair? Beautiful haired women know what they have, and they should. Loving your hair is a great confidence booster! Just so ya know where I'm coming from, I have long curly fine hair that I have to blow dry into loose waves, and then I'm happy. I'm not one of "those girls." |

I don't find it inspiring at all. I find it rather sad, really. He is not motivated, he is obsessed. He looked fine after 3 month of training, and he was at his peak in 2004 I think. Slim, lean, muscular, he looked powerful and in great shape. His transformation was awesome back then. In 2009 the only thing that comes to mind is steroids (some signs don't lie, look at the veins on his shoulders). His body is probably damaged by so much training. No, I don't find it inspiring. |

It's funny how people who don't know much about body building immediately bring up the word steroid. I've been a member on his site for years, he's an amazing stand up guy, with a nice community and I highly doubt he has taken steroids. I've seen similar gains from others. It is just a matter of taste, I think he looks great hope to someday achieve similar goals! Obsessed or not the guy changed his life around and that's some nice motivaiton for me. |

Very inspiring indeed. Thanks for posting this. Re: Steroids. From his FAQ, I chose to train naturally. If I did use steroids, I would have absolutely no problem admitting it. If you still don't believe me and it's driving you crazy, then I'll be happy to take a drug test anytime, anywhere. All you have to do is pay for the test, my transportation and my time. |

He looks fantastic, and most likely no, he is not on steroids. Clean up your attitude, please.

The lazy in question currently trains 4 hours a day, minimum. I don't have any problem with recognizing dedicated people. However, in this particular case, I think it borders on obsession. There is a fine line between the two, and I would think it is crossed here. Hey, I don't know the guy. I might be wrong for the steroids, if I am I would have no trouble admitting it. He might be very healthy psychically, and a great guy. For the "he looks great" this is a personnal opinion also. For me, in 2009, he is horrible. These are subjective, of course. In any case, I am not sure this kind of musculature is very good for the body in the short run. I am SURE it is not good in the long run. (we are talking 30 years from now here). This is objective. I was just stating my personal opinion of a guy who discovers this site. Please, clean up your attitude and let me have an opinion that differs from the vast majority. The repetition of sentences of previous posts is meant for humor (Just in case). Last edited by loic; 07-01-2009 at 05:26 PM.

Clearly working out is his drug of choice, but from this womans point of view he looked a lot better when he first started in 2003. For you guys out there just know... HE IS OVERDONE! Most women don't like it when it's gone this far. He's close to the "freakish" point." ( yes, I know I said he looked great in previous post, but I took a closer look....) The hair still looks good! |

I agree. For my own fitness, I like his fit but less HULK HOGAN look more. I don't want to have HUGE muscles and most girls I meet don't like it either. Either way, very nice to see he's still at it and working on his goals. |

The guy in question could achieve his look through 4 hours a WEEK (over the course of a few years obviously). What health issues are you so certain about being incurred long term? I can't believe you guys actually think that guy is heavily muscled, damn. What are your thoughts on these athletes? ![]() ![]() And, here's a big guy, you probably won't like it. ![]() Frankly, a lot of women don't like it because they're intimidated by a man who looks better than them. Women are incredibly insecure about their bodies, which is only exacerbated in the presence of a ripped guy. Last edited by Sivodna; 07-06-2009 at 11:08 PM.

Taichi. Forced vacations, perfect time to hone my skills. You see, I believe that every weight musculation is inherently bad, because it's based on tension. Creates tensions in your body, and since there is an heavy feedback between psyche and body, it tenses you psychologically too. There are ways to build muscle in a way that doesn't tense you. They are slower, but it puts you on a good feedback loop, if I can put it that way. So, we'll have to agree to disagree on this. Especially such extreme musculation, I just can't be inspired by that. |

All the pics you posted are attractive to me, ESPECIALLY this last one. He could even put on a bit more muscle and I'd be smiling from ear to ear. And NO, I'm not one bit intimidated by such creature.

It is inspiring. Never to late to look and feel the way you want. He dosen't necissarily look funny to me, but his head does look like it shrunk over time. Understandably so, his body did get much better. I don't care w whole lot for that many muscles, but I do like toned men. To much muscles makes a guy seem like he cares to much for his looks and not much about anybody else. That's just my opinion though.
