I met David briefly after Raw Spirit Fest in September. We chatted for about 10 minutes at a juice bar. I liked his Sunfood Diet Success System book. It was one of the most thorough books on raw food nutrition I've read. If you're new to raw foods, it can be a bit overwhelming though. I still keep it as a reference book. I disagree with his cacao trumpeting though. After experimenting with cacao myself, I agree with Dr. Graham that it's better to avoid it. I found it highly addictive, and I'd get withdrawal symptoms like headaches and backaches even with moderate consumption. |

Quite touched you replied in person Steve-praise where its due your the only American-P.D. chap who genuinely gives a damn site more away than they try to take.I've bought sod all off you so far but wondering whether there is any very simple a-z guide of starting from day one to seven raw fooding without the explanations regarding health i.e.I am reasonably convinced -don't need the waffle -hopefully you have an affiliate link |

I'm not getting positive vibes from the raw food 'gurus' and have heard rumours that some of them don't even eat 100% raw foods! I've tried raw foods only, but sometimes I'd go mentally crazy just wanting something that 'sticks to my ribs' - a wholesome meal of brown rice and boiled veggies. How can that be so bad? I recommend visiting the site Beyond Vegetarianism--Raw Food, Vegan, Fruitarian, Paleo Diets. Interesting insight from long term raw fooders and fruitarians. It may open your eyes. |

Hi I stumbled upon this post and couldn’t resist sharing my two cents. I wouldn't like to make a negative comment about David Wolf, since I'm not a raw fooder and I can't comment on that (though I have tried it at some point). However, I feel like I have to point out what I noticed about the way in which David Wolf promotes his ideas which for me is enough to rule him out as an honest expert in his field. The point is this: David mentions in one of his interviews that there is an area in, Iran, where one of his parents originally come from, where people eat an exclusively a raw vegan diet. That is simply not true!!!! There is no such place in Iran/Persia or whatever you would like to call it. I think many people in the West tend to romanticise certain aspects of the eastern cultures, habits and their food and lifestyle - often Indian, Chinese, and Japanese etc. simply because they have too many options and they can afford to do so. But if you watch very closely you realise in fact that many of those romanticising are based on misconceptions! In fact, the exact Persian word that David used in his interview for rawfoodism in Iran was "Kham Giah Khori" which is simply the translation of "raw foodism" into Persian, and if you would like an honest openion, as someone who was born and brought up in Iran and worked as a tour guide for international tourists travelling around the country, in the past, I have never ever heard that phrase or became aware of the existence of such a culture or community in Iran. In fact I would say with a certain degree of confidence that many Iranians prefer a meat based diet (partly because it’s more expensive and over-valued), and even if not, they certainly prefer cooked food to raw food. Mainly because the economical conditions of the country does not even allow rawfoodism to be a desired practice, as cooking food helps its preservation. |

My favourite raw food spokesperson is Philip McCluskey. Nothing but good vibes from him! I've learned a good few things from David Wolfe too, though, let that be said. He's charismatic enough to turn a lot of people unto raw foods, and that's great. I'm with Steve on the whole cacao thing, though - and I'm a lifelong chocolate addict, so I should probably REALLY stay away from the stuff. |

Steve, when you read his book, were you not in the least bit turned off by his anti-evolution sentiments? How about his talk on Ormus? For example, he talks about "transmuting" elements from one to the other, seemingly with magic. That just doesn't happen. Nuclear fusion and fission can create new elements. Radioactive decay can make new elements. Slapping magnets on a Vitamix before blending will NOT do anything such thing. I thought humanity disproved the existence of the philosopher's stone like 300 years ago. When you watch youtube videos where things are stated that are simply FALSE, I cannot help but raise my voice against some of the things he says. He has good things to say, too, but he often goes on weird tangents where he starts talking babble and stops making sense. Like he tries to mix spirituality and science, and though I've seen many good works that do that, he does not do it well. TBH, he just seems like a salesman to me. |

I largely ignore people's theories about diet. I test for myself to figure out what works for me. It's tedious, but it's easier to trust. | |
