Question Polyphasic sleep and sport

Hi!
This is my very first post on this forum, so hello everybody!

I've been into polyphasic sleep lately - it seems like perfectly suited for my needs. There is, hovewer, one question not mentioned (if I've had searched properly) that's of major importance to me.

Is polyphasic sleep suited for sports-intensive lifestyle? During summer, I've got a habit of spending lots of hours on tennis court, so my sleep schedule would be basically nap -- sport -- nap -- sport -- rest (I'm not exercising from morning til night, of course, but I hope you catch the point). Gym sessions are regular points in my week schedule, also.

Such habits, obviously, put a strain on the body. It seems, therefore, that sleeping 2-3 hours overall wouldn't give my body needed time to rebuild muscle structure.

Does anybody has any experiences with this issue?

I appreciate all responses.

Cheers,
Mike

Hey Mike. I can only comment on my experience. I have been sleeping on a biphasic schedule for 6-7 weeks now. I exercise at dawn 6-7 days a week. I sleep very soundly and have had no ill effects on my energy level from changing to this sleep schedule. Actually, if anything, I feel that I have more energy throughout the day, as is common for biphasic sleepers (and probably polyphasic too...)

Will be interested in this thread... hope you follow through with it.

Josh
