Default Fasting logistical question

Hi guys,

I'm all ready to start fasting. There is a logistical problem. I started fasting today, then got an email being invited to serve as a youth leader for a youth work camp from next Sunday to next Friday. It will be me, a bunch of a youth, and a couple of adults. There will definitely be group meals. I can't imagine explaining to these people that I'm fasting. I can hear them saying "you haven't eaten all week, are you sure you're ok?" Would it be better to a) tell them I'm fasting b) wait to start the fast next Sunday?

I haven’t fasted for more than three days at a time, that’s water only for three days. I can’t imagine doing it for a week or more. Even then, I have to prepare in advance. Let folks know that I won’t be available etc. For me it’s a time to take things easy. If you don’t eat will you have the strength to work with the youths?

People can only tell you what is better for them. Only you know what is best for you. It is also like if you should buy 6 or half a dozen. Do what you want to do. Here is a site with lots of info on fasting and the Lemonade Diet.

Financially, why say no to free food?

I'd be a lot more concerned with whether i would have the strength to do the youth leader duties on a fast. I'm a little bit surprised when people feel they can't just tell others they are fasting. What's the worst that could happen if you tell them? . If people freak, so what? It makes for an interesting conversation piece as well as an opportunity to explain the benefits.
