Hi Everyone, I have been reading the many posts on the topics of Juicing & Raw with great interest. The benefits that I am looking for are weight loss and as Steve Pavlina talked about an "awareness". I am Juicing most of the day (Fruit & Veg), and eating raw (Salad/Veg) for lunch. I have been doing this for two weeks now. Questions that I dont know the answer to are: a)What benefits am I missing out on combining the two? b)If I was to Juice and Raw alone in which order do you think would be suitable? I look forward to reading your helpful comments. Thankyou. Steve. Combining |

I don't know much about the difference of benefits with them but here is a website that could answer your quesitons. I eat mostly raw, and always vegan, and I feel better. But I would love to get into juicing. I have a vitamix and use it for smoothies and green one's but I want to get more into that kind of thing. Also you should check out "Juice Feasting". a) I think combined they are great and both are cleansing, but juice alone (as a temporary measure) would provide a greater rest to your digestive system and thus a more aggressive detox. b) you might consider doing juice alone first (juice fast or juice feast) to get the maximal cleanse and add whole raw foods when you emerge, and indeed maintaining juice as a part of this would be great. As to weight loss, i believe you can't go wrong with a high percentage of whole, raw, nutrient dense foods (including raw fruits and vegetables and raw juice). This along with exercise, the higher the intensity the better. Best wishes | |

| The 2 do not interact. So if you eat an orange and an apple you get the same benefits as eating an orange and later eating an apple (part a). As far as part b, it is better to eat the orange first and the apple next since the orange has more water volume (juicing has more water than raw). I will start dinner (that is part of the method for losing weight I suggest) by eating a grapefruit first. That food helps you burn fat. Note that I have always been thin but I do the above for health, not losing weight. Red grapefruit has lycopene in it as does red tomatoes and red watermelon. After the grapefruit I eat an apple. Then next an avocado. Then a banana. Then you eat the bad stuff that you want, but you will have a lot less room for it. This is a weight loss strategy that is great for losing weight. Generally the food with more water volume is healthier and more cleansing. Try juicing a burger and fries. |
