Night terrors are most common in children and usually reflect some sort of stress and anxiety in waking life
try to get to the root of the problem as that will give you some answers

I used to do all kinds of weird things in my sleep on a fairly regular basis including sleepwalking and having awful dreams. I watched a show about people who seriously harmed themselves while sleepwalking and it was quite unsettling.

One of the most interesting things that I experienced from transitioning to a healthier lifestyle is that all of this stopped completely!

What I think did it for me was cutting out sugar, refined carbs, and based on my Metabolic Type, eating a lot more protein.

There's a lot to be said for good health ... it eliminates a lot of problems that you may not even recognize as abnormal. Following a healthy diet is one of the first steps to getting there!

One of my younger brothers used to get frequent night terrors when we were kids. There was some stressful stuff going on at the time (divorce) in the house, so that likely had something to do with it. An interesting thing I noticed was any time the dog, a cocker spaniel, slept in the bedroom with him he never had a night terror. It seems maybe he needed to feel that his physical body was safe while he was sleeping.

I'd also like to echo the stuff that was already said about diet. Maybe try a few weeks, or a 30 day challenge of eating only pure foods like fruits and vegetables, and lots of water or green tea.

Maybe some meditation during the day, or before bed?

Good luck. Night terrors are not very fun for the person having them, and very trying for the other people in the house at the time.
