Hi everyone, If you have a desire to give advice this thread is where it would be most appreciated! I have an interview to do a live show on health and fitness...now I'm a personal trainer, but I don't know everything there is to know and am open to new ideas. I have to lose 5kg in 20 days...thats about 10 pounds. Because I need to cut bodyfat, I'll be eating a diet void of sugar, white flour, alcohol and caffeine (except for one coffee in the morning). Because I teach strength training, I'll be giving 6 classes a week + 2 aerobics sessions. I'm thinking of trying short term water-fasting on the weekends to really clear out the toxins + lots of rest and meditation. What do you all think? I'm open to ideas, especially from non-professionals who actually DO exercise and eat healthy! Thanks a LOT!!!! Kasha |

What an opportunity! I lost 8 lbs in 7 days when I started the Paleo diet (fresh fruit & vegetables, lean meat, seeds & nuts & water), and I think specifically it was the abscence of any dairy that made the pounds drop off. Let us know how it goes! |

| Well you can find a lot of this stuff lots of places like exercise more and burn more calories, build muscle which burns calories fast etc. But if you look on site below on losing weight, there is a section on doing it very fast (Quickest Way to Lose Weight). That tells how to lose 15 pounds of weight safely in an hour. It is actually good for health. Dr Norman Walker did it on tens of thousands of people but not to lose weight ,but increase health. Losing weight is side effect but models and dancers do this secret trick before their perfomance. So do it before the show. Here is another trick. What thing do people eat everyday that has no calories but is very fattening. Note I am defining fatter by looking fatter and weighing more. See site below on losing weight. The governor of CA knew all about it. Maybe that was his secret to looking so good. It is salt. Eating salt makes you retain water and look fatter. Plus it looks worse than fat. Stop eating all salt before the show and you lose weight fast. The site below also tells about fasting. That is where most of the weight loss of a 7 day fast comes from-- losing salt and then the water follows. Some people like to say that the way salt causes high blood pressure is that the water follows the salt-- kind of like stalking. So most of the weight loss the first week of a fast or Lemonade Diet is from consuming no salt. Then it is up to you if you want to share these secrets with the rest of the world on TV. Note that I have death threats from models and dancers already about sharing their secret publically on my website. Just kidding! |

Thanks a lot, I really appreciate when people take the time to post advice and try to do the same :-) I've lost all the weight I need to lose except that stubborn 5kg! I've been overweight all my life, I'm thinking those last stubborn pounds may be psychological... I'll check those sites, thanks for your help! K :-) |

No offence, but 10 pounds in 20 days should be a relatively mild task. Many years ago when I was dieting I lost a consistent 3-5 pounds a week with no excercise and a very basic calorie counting diet. Just get yourself a good 30 minute aerobic routine and cut out the sugar/white-flour. |

This is super easy. 1. Cut out all unnatural carb foods ( flour - breads, pastas, the like plus fruit juices (alot of peoples fat loss is held up by too much fruit (fructose sugar)), and cut out carbs about 4 - 5 hrs before bed) AND DRINK ALOT OF WATER. If this doesnt work fast enough - (2-3 lb loss per week) 2. Decrease your carb intake to about 100g daily while doing an hour a day cardio (mon - Sunday). Increase proteins and fats If you are feeling too tired to do your workouts, then increase your carbs from sources like brown rice and potato or try days where your only carb sources are vegetables, ther is no way the weight will not fly off you if this doesnt work ( highly unlikely) 3. DOING CARDIO - Jogging or cross trainer 2ce a day. eat enough to get energy for workouts and recovery Regardless of what many may say, the fastest way to fat loss is a drastic reduction of carbs (excluding veg) and an increase in cardio and water. but all these are hard to do ps when you drop carbs, you need to up your healthy fats. Orecle I totally agree about the fruits and the fruit juice! I have read on many sites advocating paleo diets that today's fruits are very high in fructose when compared to those that grew naturally for millions of years prior to current agricultural practices. I have the brown rice, also rusks (whole grain toasts) made from barley for times when my energy is down, or if I get dizzy. I'll supplement this with raw plant foods and maybe a few eggs here and there. Lets see how it all goes. Thanks :- ) |
