Default Healthy Recipe websites/cookbook for college?

For cheap college students with little time. Any recommendations?

I tend to eat a lot of chicken since I workout; chicken being a cheap and healthy source of protein.

If you think cheap, commercially-produced chicken is a health food, I'm probably not going to be able to give you recipes you'll like.

You also need more in your diet than "protein".

And with food you get what you pay for: "cheap" chicken is not healthy chicken. And is chicken really the best and least-expensive way to get the nutrition you need?

I suspect since you mention little time you prefer prepackaged and/or processed foods, yes? Those foods are often marked up 5-20x from the cost of the original ingredients. Can you give up some of your time to do the food prep yourself, to save you money (and give you a fresher better meal)?

Can you replace some of your "quick" foods (anything that comes prepackaged) with fruit? Idea: get a secondhand blender somewhere and turn some of the fruit into smoothies for a quick meal on-the-go.

Can you buy in bulk, cook only a few nights a week, and do leftovers night or integrate the previous night's leftovers into a new dish? For example rice is extremely inexpensive. Can you make it the base for a few different meals?

*nodding* We can always count on you to have great "horse sense" (LOL) funchy!

If you're going to resort to packaged foods, at least get things like frozen broccoli, cut-up lettuce, or fresh stir-fry veggies.

Does your town have any farmer's markets? That's a good place to get reasonably priced foods, including high-quality eggs from truly free-range chickens (ask about diet and location they're kept in).
