Hi Being an ectomorph I do have trouble gaining mass- and I'm absolutely useless when it comes to cooking and knowing what foods should be going into me. I've made a few goals for this year and this is one of them, starting in week 3 of 2007. I do work out at the gym, and rather than concentrate on working out issues, I want to get into the habit of a good diet before I properly start hitting those weights. Would anyone be able to give me a 7 day rota of healthy eating, remembering i'm at work during the day and am limited on both time and budget!. Any recipes people have come up with that I may not have thought of please let me know! If someone gives me a realistic rota I will completely follow it and report back to them on results! Thanks people! Simon |

Check out Gain weight, muscle building workouts and diets I have this program and the in depth information about foods and eating for ectomorph body types is well worth the price alone. The access to the forum and the motivation that you get communicating with other guys going through the program is also worth it. There is one guy on the forum that went from being awfully skinny (something like 110 pounds - and he's over 6 feet tall) to somewhere around 200 pounds since the last time I read about him. Currently I am not on that program but I will be starting again in the next month. Check it out and see if that is what you're looking for. Cheers |

I have the oppostive issue... my body builds muscle too fast when I work out on a regular basis, so I have to schedule out work outs... The only side effect of this is that my body stores fat pretty easy too, so I have to watch out for that..

As a personal trainer and bodybuilder you need to start increasing your food intake slowly to begin with and trying to eat smaller meals more regularly that you can prepare at home and take to work. Being an ectomorph you can eat a little bit of extra fats than most but I would recommend getting that fat from protein sources like chicken, beef or pork. Perhaps try cooking up some chicken legs or wings with the skin on and eat them with some boiled rice when you have time. Also start taking in a whey protein shake in between meals which you can also prepare before work and it will only take you a minute to drink a shake. Also start eating a handful of nuts, any type you like, after all your meals. I have written many articles in the health and fitness category on my website, the link is below. Good luck and don't give up, you will gain weight if you stay consistent for sure. John |
