Default Need Moral Support for This Diet

I want to look like my vision by this summer. Right now I look terrible. This diet has been very hard to start. I am eating today but tomorrow (Tuesday) I hope someone can get on board with me to do the raw food diet.

I think that you are cruisin for a bruisin. Food has a lot to do with emotions. Too big of a change for you can cause serious problems. If you were ready then you would not need moral support. Try making small changes at first. See site below on losing weight.

Do not let anyone fool you. How you look is a reflection of emotions. Fat Bastard (on Austin Powers) says "I eat because I am sad and I am sad because I eat." If you were happier and more peaceful, then you would not try to suck the happiness out of food by eating. Fasting is promoted by some prominent psychiatrists. Americans are the fattest group of people that have ever existed and also have more emotional and mental problems than any other group. This even includes former governors like of NY and IL.

In Philadelphia we had a destist who killed his wife to give the insurance money to a stripper that he loved. Also one guy here locked women in his basement and raped and tortured them everyday. They caught him since the house smelled so bad after he killed and burned one of the women in the oven.

I don't think Americans are the fattest people that have ever existed.

At any rate:

Day 1

2 Avocados
1 Cherry Tomato
3 Pineapple Slices
1 Chocolate Cupcake

2 Glasses of Wine
1 Cup of Liquor

Advice appreciated

Not enough food. That leaves you hungry so after a few days you over eat.

Where did you get the chocolate cupcake plant?

I would like to join you but I won't be ready until May 1. If you are still at it I will join you then - for a dozen reasons. Meanwhile I'm eating my little boy's easter candy so he won't have too - lol.

I'm trying to work out what this has to do with a raw food diet.

What is the raw food diet? I could google, but seriously am too lazy at the moment. I'm doing atkins on day 2, ok I shouldnt say atkins because I had a bowl of popcorn each of the two nights, but I'm low carbing it, (popcorn is suprising low carb and highish fiber) did you know they use corn to fatten up pigs before they get slaughtered? and yet I eat popcorn, what is WRONG with this picture??

Anyway, happy to join forces in dieting even if we aren't following the same diet. (you'll see my thread here about getting motivated about being healthier, I am more motivated now that two days ago, but for sure the popcorn thing isn't helping)

Hi!

I just started the raw food diet also and I would have never made it a day if I ate what you did for the day! Have you read anything about it? There is so many cool recipes - and that's what makes it fun. Start by reading the uncook books - so far I read Carol Alt's and Ani Phyo's books. You can also look on youtube.com and look up Ani and she has demonstrations on a few recipes.

I have one of Ani's shakes in the morning. Lunch is salad and soup. Dinner is salad and vegi sandwich with sundried tomato pesto. (I cheat on the bread, but eat sprouted grain bread). I loved Carol Alt's raw lentil salad and make that at least once per week.

I would gradually get off of all things bad for you. I finally gave up coffee today and that was my big vice!

Go at your own pace and have fun with it.

The increase in obesity rates over the past 30 years is astounding. Of course in some societies obesity is a sign of wealth. Food costs money. America is the richest society that ever existed with over 300 billionaires. A billion dollars is a thousand million dollars. If you live in a wealthy area like me, people do not look bad. But if you visit a poor area that has lots of fast food restaurants, people look really heavy.

Default My 2 sense

If I may offer some no food related insight. In working with my clients on this subject I have found that person’s self-image is the most important component to getting in shape. The sense of value which we attach to something is what determines how much we invest into it. Whether it be effort, willpower, belief, motivation. Any of those. If you have not read Psycho-cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz, he was a plastic surgeon who did research on people who had just come out of operations. He found that if the person did not change their inner image then they would just keep coming back in thinking that they still needed changing on the outside. I have seen many people fail in dieting or gain the weight back because they did not value their bodies enough to even see themselves as healthy people. I say all of this because of the comment you made ‘ I look horrible right now’. Not a statement that demonstrates that you value your body enough to invest the effort and faith. Change this and it will all be a matter of finding the right foods which always involves at least some trial and error. Everybody is different and not matter how much advice you seek the only way to know how your body will respond is by some experimentation. Anyway, I hope that helps you. You already have an amazing body, the fact that it is not visible right now is all a matter of investing the determination that you already know you have. Best of luck to you.
