Default Need advice: water filter

Dear members,

After reading the forums here, and doing my research,
I decided to try a water filtering system.
I have purchased bottled water for the last X+ years, so decided
to give this one a try.

The Shower Filter from Aquasana seems to work quite well.

However, the countertop drink water filter system seems to have some issues. I am living in a very old apartment (rent), and the kitchen faucet seems to be non standard.

1 Do you think its worth the time/energy to replace the faucet or to find
to force fit the adapter?
(this seems a lot of commitment.. and I could move within a year)
or
2 Should I drink the water from the shower filter
and return the countertop filter?
or
3.Return the Aquasana countertop and get a PUR 2-Stage Dispenser
or something else that is not a countertop.

Any other suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Thank you!

Alex

Have you considered simply getting a Brita pitcher?

Default other water filters

Hi,

Yes, I already have a Brita filter.
I used that for some time and realized that performance was not too great.
I could still taste the Cl or some other material, and always could
distinguish the "Brita"ed water to a bottled water.
I only use the Britta-ed water in conjunction to boiling.

As a result, I
decided to upgrade my water filtering system this month...

Your feedback is appreciated.

I'd use a water distiller or a reverse osmosis filter...
(I've never used either but they're the best water filters I found on Google. The water distiller can't filter things if they evaporate with water but could filter them out completely if they don't. Both filter flouride, which most filters leave alone(consuming flouride is bad for you)...)

Alex, Aquasana is an excellent choice. I decided I'd venture into this business and among all the water filters I've researched and tested, Aquasana came out on top. I'm going to start distributing them in my country in a couple of weeks.

Shower filter is good, but it's not as effective as the countertop unit (b/c it's designed to filter warm and fast flowing water). Any pitcher type filter will perform even worse, these things just can't handle things as well as a "real" filter.

I'd definitely try to find an adapter or a new faucet. Any plumber should be able to help.

I have been using purified water that I get in 5 gallon jugs for many years. I am finally tired of lugging those big jugs from here to there and I would prefer not to have my water in plastic containers, soooo....

...I, too, have been looking at water filters. I agree that reverse osmosis filters seem to be the best, but does anyone have any brand recommendations? The seem fairly expensive (well worth it, I am sure) so I would love to get some recommendations before I make the plunge.

Suggestions?

TIA

Jess
