i am going through this horrible need to sleep forever and feeling tired forever i had a premature c-section delivery last year, i also lost my baby ... after which my complete sleep pattern has changed ... i feel sleepy always and tired always i used to get up early previously but after that i really struggled to get up early .. then i googled came across steve's idea to become early riser and tried it and have seen some good results ... however ... i always sleep between 9:30 - 10:00 i get up between 6:00-6:30 now including weekends ... ..(previously it was 7:00-7:30)[i want to wake up bet 5:00 - 5:30] but for about 2-3 weeks i am falling very evry tired again and feeling very sleepy always ... and so am sleeping little longer ... than 6:30 somedays i got myself tested and found that i am quiet anemic .. have been taking iron tablets for 3 mnths now... but i am not sure if that is the reason ... i usually love to sleep .. but this thing of forever wanting to sleep and constant body pain and tiredness is very very annoying ... i use to be very active doing many things in a day and still feeling good ...but now doing one little thing makes me very tired any help advice or thought will be much appreciated ... |

Do you plan your day ? Planning ahead could help you in various ways, you would have reason to get up in the morning (try to plan something to do with your time, when you get up early), but it also helps you get better sleep better, becouse you know everything to be done is done. For me the planning along with reviewing my day (diary) worked magic, got better sleep and productivity during day since I stopped procastnating things. Long sleep doesnt mean its good sleep, but you should indeed ensure you get enough quality sleep, the amnounts vary person to person, but if you use alot of energy during day its more likely you sleep deeper and probably better durin in a same amnount of time. Often the mind and body needs some sort of things to do to get to the deep sleep, otherwise, you are just stuck somewhere between and are very tired throught the day. Basicly the amnount you spend in deep sleep is the time you actually "rest", but spending alot of time in other states isnt that hard, which mean you will feel tired, and you will want to sleep more, altought you may no treach the deep sleep state. For me to sleep "less", means by sleeping better quality sleep. It ment challening my mind and body day to day, and doing as much as things as possible, and so far it has worked great. Most important thing is to listen your body I think the steve's early riser scratched this topic too by letting the body decide when to go to sleep, so its important to learn to recognize when you are ready to go to sleep, if you wish to rise early and rested. |

I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your baby. How are you going, in terms of coping with this sadness? Have you read up on the mourning process? There are various steps you go through when mourning a loss, and sometimes people will get stuck on a particular step and need help getting past it. This link discusses the stages I am talking about. Anemia will definitely contribute to feelings of fatigue - have you been tested again to see if the tablets have made a difference? |

You could be suffering from depression. The body aches, the excessive tiredness, the change in sleep patterns, all of it suggests that. How is your mood? Do you still enjoy things that you used to enjoy? It could also be plenty of other things-- you might want to make visit to a sleep specialist who would have "seen it all" with respect to tiredness and who might be able to direct you to help. I wish you the best of luck in figuring out where the problem is and how to fix it! |

I think Writertype and fresco are on to something. You could be suffering from depression which could be related to the loss of your baby. If you can, I would suggest going to see a psychiatrist instead of a doctor (and I'm not suggesting you are crazy). It would be natural for somebody to suffer side effects after losing their baby. |
