My father has cancer and he is drinking pomegranate juice,as it has been shown to help slow the growth. However, it's expensive as all hell. Anyone know of a good place to either buy it in bulk, or on sale somewhere? Anyone take the stuff? Advice? Thanks.

Try small middle eastern stores. I buy it in a Moroccan family owned supermarket like store in one quart cartons. It is from concentrate, so arguably the health food fresh pressed version is a little better, but most of the health benefits are still there in this much cheaper version. Do try to find one that is unsweetened. Have your father eat lots of cruciferous vegetables as well (broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, brussels sprouts, kale etc.). That has also been shown to help slow the growth. You could also juice them (in addition to eating them with meals). This must be a hard time for all of you. I wish you strength. |

I happened to find discounted prices on Pomegranate juice/concentrate at vitaminshoppe.com I don't know if that is enough of a discount. Another idea is to contact a local store that sells it and talk to them about buying in bulk from them. If it is a 'Mom and Pops' type of store they may just sell to you at cost. You'd be surprised what people will do to help you out if you just talk to them. I hope this helps. |

Just as a reference price point, I pay 1.75 euro for a one quart carton. It should be available in the US in a normal store as well. I advise you to stay away from the health food stores because they'll ask a premium just because they know you will pay it. If you cannot find anything in your neighbourhood, try online. I found bestturkishfood and eturkaz. |
