Default Yoga videos

I would like to add a daily yoga practice to my morning routine, and am looking for video recommendations.

Let's see... I need something that's not too long (20-30 minutes)... my calves and hamstrings are super-tight so I'd like to have a lot of stretching on these areas... also some twists... and if there's anything that might be helpful for shoulder and neck pain that would be great too.

There are just so many yoga vids available and I don't know how to find the one that will really address my needs. If anyone knows another yoga-specific forum I could ask on, that might be helpful as well.

Thanks!

Hey Lauxa ~

I just love, Love, LOVE yoga. I have been practicing for over two years now and what a difference it's made!

YogaJournal.com has free webcasts that you practice with and they have a nice variety. The instructor leading the webcasts is Jason Crandell and he does a nice job.

I have also been to a Master Class with a woman named Desiree Rumbagh, who is just so fabulous I can't even begin to describe, and she sells a series of videos designed for specific areas of the body.

Good luck and enjoy!!

@dice: Rodney Yee? I was looking at his videos a bit, he has an AM/PM yoga DVD that I'm considering buying.

I've been using the video I posted for the last 3 days and I really love it, the only thing is I wish she would hold the poses a little longer.

I do my daily practice with Yoga Today. They post a new hour long class everyday. I also like this YouTube channel YouTube - sadienardini's Channel.

Hi Lauxa.. Good to see that you're taking initiative towards a yoga practice.. I'm a bit biased but the best instructional DVD is by my teacher, Sri Dharma Mittra... You can catch his DVD at the following link: Amazon.com: dharma mittra dvd .. He has two DVD's... The first one is good if you want to get your feet wet in Yoga.. the second is better if you're looking for a challenge.

He's been practicing / teaching Yoga for more than 50 years now and he also passes on his knowledge of 'true' yoga in the DVD's.

Here's a promo for the DVD from Youtube:
YouTube - Trailer for Maha Sadhana with Dharma Mittra

Definitely Check it out, you'll enjoy it.

I've been checking out all these great resources and love the yoga journal videos. For me they are a perfect fit. I've added them to my weekly exercise routine.
Thanks to everyone for sharing.

I'm bumping this because I'm looking for something new. I've been doing the routine I posted earlier daily or every other day since about July and it has helped me tremendously but I'm not getting the same bang out of it anymore, even though I've expanded it a bit and added a bunch of poses. So if anyone has a good, short, free yoga video to recommend, I'd love to hear about it.

Lets see... areas I would like to improve are back bends and hand stands (I can't do either of these ATM). I'm getting some pain in my right hip that I think could be stretched out with some twists and quadriceps stretches. And I'd like more shoulder rotation so I can do this:

Otherwise I'll be crawling around youtube and google videos looking for something that fits the bill. I'll let you know what I find!

So, it looks like I don't need a video so much right now because I can take yoga classes at my gym! I am really really really excited, the yoga studio there is very nice and it used to be an extra fee (like another $75/month or something) and there would be one beginner yoga class a week in the main studio. I was poring over the schedule and couldn't find that one class, and when I asked about it at the trainer desk they told me all the yoga classes are included now with our memberships!

Went to my first hot yoga class yesterday and it was great. So happy.
