Hello everyone, A couple of week ago (I think 3 weeks) I changed my diet from eating a lot of meat to eating a lot of fruit and vegetables. This has made some positive changes to my body: - the acne on the back of my shoulders is going away. - I have more energy - I'm sleeping a lot better But there is also one negative change: - I got acne in my face. Most around the nose. I eat a lot of bananas, apples, tomatos and cucumbers. I was already eating those, but not as much as now. Tomatos is new in my diet. I'm also on creatine for 6 to 8 weeks (started also 3 weeks ago). So maybe this is the problem. Does anyone has a solutions for the acne in the face?

I don't eat bread anymore. A typical day is about 2 liters of green smoothie (greens, carrots and any fruit lying around) for breakky & lunch. I do eat a very small amount of chicken once in a while, not everyday. Compared to lots of meat before. I also eat some rice. I think it's the greens though, because whenever I have a smoothie, my acne reduces within 2 days. I eat quite a lot of greens. |

I wish I could change my diet that much. I'm change it the way I really want I when I have my own house. I eat a lot of bread. I would like to change it. But I really need a lot of calories a day (for sports). I also need a lot of protein. If I can change my bread for something like a smoothie, on a way that I still get enough calories, protein and fibers. I would love to hear the posibilities. Edit: I also eat a lot of quark. This could be the problem too. It's something I also hear on other forums.

What do you wash your face with? Try witch hazel, jojoba, clay masks, and steaming with a hot towel. Also dab a little tea tree oil to help with disinfecting High Glycemic index foods are no good for the skin either. Try to trade bread in for beans/chili/nuts for calories and energy. Or have cinnamon/apple cider vinegar with the bread to slow down the insulin spike. |

I've found personally creatine irritates my acne. I'm currently trying a no-washing experiment. So far the results have been superb for me. It's been about 2 weeks. Red Blotches and whiteheads are literally non-existent. However, skin becomes dead and flaky. Give it a try if you have extreme acne. I've tried everything from clearsil to accutante with no results. Seems like living like a neanderthal (ie. Not washing and eating "basic" foods) really absolved all my acne issues. Although after being on the no-wash experiment I've even tried cheating on my diet, even started drinking coffee again. I'm so happy that I can drink coffee and not get acne. I wish you the best of luck everyone. I hope your acne can be solved. I think it's really a case by case basis and if you want, you should definitely try not washing your face. It works for me, my particular acne is the deep rooted kind. I'll get bumps under my skin but they don't surface with the no-wash technique. |

If you're taking creatine, your body will need even more water to make up for it. That could have something to do with it. I've noticed that whenever I don't think about acne, I don't have it. Weird, huh? Haha. But then you have to be careful because when you finally get another huge pimple, you're so used to not having them that it's hard not to think about it.
