Hello, Just wondering what kind of tricks I could pull off to experience rapid weight loss. Hell, I gained the weight fairly quickly, so it should be easy to take off, right? I really don't know what to use as a benchmark for "rapid" weight loss. Just post your stories here. |

Well if you have a good metabolism then you can just exercise and eat right, or just fast, and you won't have a problem. Otherwise just exercise and eat right. Hmm I usually lose weight pretty fast when I'm really sick. I lost weight when I worked at Taco Bell too, try the TB Diet. |

I lost forty pounds over a three month period last year. No secret, just lots of exercise and calorie reduction. I've read that it is safe to go as low as 1200 calories per day as long as you're eating nutritious food and having plenty of water. Take a multi-vitamin as well. The hardest part for me is keeping it off once I lose it. You have to keep up reasonable exercise and low calorie diet! |

I lost 60 lbs over the course of 4-5 months a few years ago. Calorie restriction + sprinting. (250 lbs -> 190 lbs) Later I water fasted and lost 25 lbs in 13 days. (185->160) If you want to lose weight quickly calorie restriction + exercise, or water fasting are excellent options. Water fasting is especially quick...and you aren't hungry after 3 days. I'm currently hovering around 160-170, (my scale is brizzoke, Edit: Went to a gym this morning, I'm 162 w clothes and shoes). I've been eating Raw Vegan for about 2 weeks, eating far too much fat, but just about 99% raw. At first I was drinking a lot of juice and noticed visible losses, after adding a lot of nuts and nutmilks I feel like I've gained some back. I'm adding exercise (morning walks + sprints) to see if this is enough to spur weightloss. Otherwise i'll look into adding weight training or going on another waterfast. Waterfasts are fun Hope that helps.

Try the stomach flu diet. It feels like death for a couple days, but hot DAMN did I drop some pounds fast I think a good tip is to always be conscious of what you're eating- eat slowly, eat smaller portions than you think you need, and chew well. It's amazing how many extra calories people eat when they just hog down food. |

What did you guys eat during the raw trial? Also, how much did you have to spend on food? I imagine it could get very expensive eating only fresh fruits and veggies. Victor, was that 17kg lost in 30 days????? ****, how much did you weigh when you startred? |

There is a much more efficient way of losing weight quickly and safely. It is called Protein-Sparing Modified Fast. With this method you will lose weight by the hour, but a couple of things first: - do NOT do this straight for more than 12 days - After the period have a 2-day refeed, and repeat until you get the weight loss you desire, and spend the rest of the time losing it slowly This is the basic recommendation: 800 calories per day, 90% lean protein. If vegetarian, I suggest to buy some rice protein. 4-6 EFA fish oil or flax oil supplements a day, probiotics and multivitamins. Plenty of caffein, and a fat-burning supplement if you wish such as Hydroxycut. You will lose just as much weight as a water fast. This is taken from Lyle McDonald, the foremost expert on diet and fitness. This is a link to his book on the subject of quick and safe weight loss: Rapid Fat Loss Handbook T-Nation also has a fast weight loss plan, usually meant for figure athletes and bodybuilders but should serve you fine. This one is a bit more tolerable T-Nation.com | Get Shredded Diet |

Well, I weighed myself about one month earlier, but didn't change my eating habits until the raw trial. I think my polyphasic sleep attempt has got something to do with it too, though. I was on a polyphasic sleep schedule for about two weeks. | |
