Most often I start with fruit then eat cereal of either raw buckwheat groats or soaked raw oat groats with raisins and some raw nuts like walnuts, sunflower seeds, pecans or cashews. Some days I'll eat just fruit like a whole melon and that feels good. I am wanting to try making raw sushi (vegan) for breakfast sometime soon to try eating something raw and savory instead of sweet fruit |

I am currently eating three slices of bread each morning, with a spread of strawberry jam. Not the most energy-rich and healthiest of all, and I don't really like the monotonicity of it either. I'd really love to switch to oatmeal with berries or a high-energy smoothie, but for some reason, I don't. Weird.. I really think my breakfast could be improved a lot. Actually, I think my overall diet could be improved a lot. I do eat a lot of vegetables, but I hardly ever eat any fruit. I feel groggy around the end of the morning, most of the time. But then, after some slices of bread, spread with some slices of ham, I feel okay. But I really think I could get a lot more out of my day if only I would improve my diet. Breakfast first. I even think I will have a different breakfast for the rest of the week, starting Wednesday. Lets see if it makes a difference. Thanks for your topic, it has given me something to think about! |

What I eat for breakfast depends on what I've got planned for the day. On days when I go running with my dog straight after breakfast, I will usually have a filling fruit smoothie with spirulina and some crisp bread with a vegan spread so that I will have blood glucose to draw from during my exercise. During the days that I am sedentary in the morning, and exercise in the evening, I make porridge (rye, oatmeal, spelt, quinoa, polenta... I like variation) with oatmilk and green tea. If I need an extra kick, I toss some frozen berries, bits of apple, some dates or something like that in the porridge. On Sundays we go all out with a big continental breakfast in the salon, though. Fresh baked wholegrain ciabattas, vegan roasted oat waffles, fruit salads... |

I only eat fruit in the morning, but half an hour later I eat some oatmeal or other more solid food. Besides, I took Steve's suggestion and ate nuts after drinking orange juice - this is a fair combination according to food combining rules, and makes the assimilation of sugars in the juice slower. Besides, I love the combination, otherwise it's hard for me to eat nuts all by themselves.

| Fruit. Quote:
Grains make me feel hungry again after a couple hours. Fruit lasts longer. A fruit breakfast isn't that light when you eat enough. Like, a whole melon, or twenty tangerines.

or 2-3 scrambled eggs with bits of paprika, tomatoes and leek. Rarely a toast with cheese. Quote:
Actually I'm looking for a milk alternative to reduce my milk consumption... I've read about oatmilk somewhere here in this thread. Gonna try this - haven't known it even existed. Already tried soy milk. I'm skeptical 'cause of soy's assumed oestrogenic effects, though, but that's another topic
