....provides an insight how it feels to be a vegan in todays greedy, over consuming fat western society. I make no apologies for shooting from the hip when it comes to matters that are absolutely important ethically to me. In my opinion for someone to say..""There's nothing wrong with eating meat unless you make it so."" ...is absolute nonsense and should be challenged for what it is. I see not much of a difference between horrific animal experimentation and human experimentaion that Nazis used during WW2. If that makes you uncomfortable, then so be it: - Provide a compelling argument that rebuts it and I will listen with an open mind. Other than that, please dont lecture me on etiquette whilst millions of animals are needlesly slaughtered for food, clothing, accessories and fun. Anyway getting back to the thread. I think it might be a good idea if people didnt migrate to vegetarianism before firstly giving up dairy products. I often read of people who feel listless etc afrter going vege. Somehow they add 2 + 2 together and come up with 5. The body is detoxing itself and craving and unsettled feelings will be abundant. The reason its better to give dairy up first then go Vege, is becuase many omin's go vege and stuff themselves full of cheese, eggs, milk etc to make up for their deprivation of meat. But this only makes you feel worse. Dairy is bad for you period. Eggs are meant to grow in to chicks and milk is for baby calves. Its the way it is. So to avoid this dairy OD, if you are an omni, try cutting dairy out first for say 2 weeks and get used to soy milk etc and alternative spreads for bread etc, then go vege. It might make it so much easier than you can imagine.

| It is much more difficult to have thoughts and beliefs that are against mainstream belief; because of this reason it is easy for a person who is firm in his or her beliefs to use emotion to try and entice others into thinking and along the same lines of thought - attempting to rid the empty feeling of being alone. We can observe this type of behavior everyday by simply looking around; herd mentality is everywhere. How can we apply this type of thinking to being a vegetarian or omnivore? Is one way right and the other way wrong? A lot of vegetarians take a stance against killing living animals on the basis that they are alive and it is cruel to kill even though vegetables are alive before they are harvested for human consumption (I think we should focus more on the way animals are treated before they are sacrificed for human consumption. For instance, a Japanese cow is massaged and fed a beer before it dies, free rang chicken is free instead of locked in a cage, etc.). As far as being right or wrong, the cow could have chosen to be incarnated as an animal that is consumed by a human because it's life essence and consciousness would therefore be absorbed by human consciousness. A persona really can't ever know for sure. In conclusion, I am of the position that when we tap into our subconscious and are expanding our conscious awareness, our bodies will direct us to what is best for us individually and yet collectively as a whole. I believe that using force to achieve one's end, emotional (i.e. guilt), physical, or otherwise is of lower vibrational energy and therefore understand that individuals ultimately guide themselves for higher vibrations.
