I've always been a picky eater. Food isn't very interesting to me--it's usually just nutrition and something to keep me from passing out. So when I dislike a food, I can't force myself to eat it. And there are a lot of foods I dislike (including some very common ones). Two foods I used to really dislike are avocados and chickpeas. But in the year and a half since going vegan, I've discovered a love for both of those. I've been gorging on hummus in the past few days! I'm really excited about these developments because they mean I get to eat a wider variety of healthy, unprocessed (or not too processed) foods. I doubt I'll ever be able to eat peppers or anything spicy, but I'm hoping that at some point I'll be able to handle tomatoes. That would really open up my options. Has anyone else noticed a change in tastes since changing diet? Or has anyone changed their tastes deliberately? |

My tastes have changed but not through anything deliberate. I used to stay away from anything seafood related but now I enjoy certain aspects of seafood (I wouldn't say all seafood cause I still feel odd eating jellyfish or octopus). Chinese spicy fish is one of my favourites.

Being raw has been a huge change for me. I eat many foods that I never did before because I never liked them much, liked them raw or tried them. The longer I'm raw, the more my tastes change. I love it. Food is just so much more enjoyable and yet very simple. I never had to force myself to eat raw or like it, I just did. Just a very natural next step in becoming healthy.
