It often leads to other symptoms such as dizzyness, tiredness, mild headaches. But when I think about it, it's mostly just my stuffed up nose that's bothering me. Could these be sinus infections? It happened about 3 times over the past year. It's the same symptoms. I doubt it's a recurring sinus infection. Maybe the first 2 or 3, because they happened all in 5 months, but this one isnt. What can I do to speed up recovery? I usually drink a lot of water and eat ginger, garlic, lemon, and hot soups/teas. Blowing my nose makes me feel better but if I blow my nose too much, it gets dry and that makes it worse. Also, what can I do to prevent it? I eat fairly healthy. I eat meat, but not milk. I eat a decent amount of fruits & veggies. I cant pinpoint what I do differently before I get sick. Stress definitely doesnt help, but there are times when Im more stressed and dont get sick. |

Here are three sources of information that have been helpful to me: Eby's ColdCure Zinc Acetate Lozenges - 100% iZn value - an effective common cold treatment SinusSurvival.com Neti Nasal Pots - The Original Ceramic Neti Pot for Nasal Congestion The first is a zinc tablet designed by George Eby. If interested google Eby and read his detailed research about zinc and colds. His work on magnesium is interesting too. The 2nd is Dr. Ivker's site. I first found his book a few years back when my sinus problems were intolerable - a combination of allergies and candidiasis. I followed his suggestions and got great relief. I re-read his book every year. The 3rd is one of many web-sites with information about neti-pots. I have this particular version and I swear by it. Hope this is some help. I have never in my entire life been able to breathe through my nose. If you had put your hand over my mouth I would have died of suffocation. I had constant lung infections, allergies, several bouts of walking pneumonia and a lung collapse about 20 years ago. I also had a tonsil that was swollen so huge it blocked the entire right side of my throat and you could see the lump in my neck from it when I got a sore throat and it was infected. My husband suffered from terrible allergies, and he would get horrible chest colds every year when we would rake up the leaves in our yard. Three years ago, he was so sick he was in bed for almost a week and I swore he would never touch a leaf again! I hired a service to come get up the leaves. I went completely raw about a year ago, but had changed my diet significantly about a year before that. Since going raw, my tonsil swelling has completely disappeared! It's GONE, for the first time in 30 years! I can breathe through my nose with no problem now and I have not had a chest cold or sinus infection in two years. My husband has raked up every leaf in our yard for two years straight now without even a sniffle, and we don't have to pay anyone else now! Plus it's great exercise. Dairy is a big, huge culprit in many lung/sinus problems, since it produces massive amounts of mucus. I believe that having meat in your system also contributes to it because of the yeast activation to digest the meat. It's been worth going raw just to get rid of all the pesky colds and allergies, plus being able to breathe normally for the first time in my life! Defy sickness, colds, flu and allergies! Eat living foods! Christy Be Defiant! Defiant Health! | |

First of all, Neti Pots are the greatest thing in the world if you have sinus issues. Someone already mentioned this but I wanted to second it. You can use it daily with no negative health affects. Another thing that may not even apply to you but check to see if you're plumbing up there is okay. I had a badly deviated septum for much of my life and never knew it. A doctor mentioned it one time while looking in my nose and after having it surgically fixed I breath great. |
