A GROWING MIND is on a distinguished road
Default Eating and sleeping habits

Its been about 3 years since I first started having an eating problem. The problem is that im ALWAYS pretty much starving to death to the point where I feel like I might puke, and I cant make myself eat. Nothing seems good to me and trying to force myself to eat makes me start to gag. Anyway here is where it gets interesting. The only thing I have have been able to make myself eat lately is fast food, mostly McDonalds. I mean I might have a little something at home but not much and even then thats pretty rare. So I am eating tons of fast food and not much else. I recently posted on another thread that I have been successful this past week in not drinking soft drinks like coke, I usually get lemonade with my fast food now. So I always feel like im going to throw up because im having trouble eating and its driving me insane. Any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions?

Now on to my sleeping habits. The past year I have pretty much only been able to sleep during the day. I stay up ALL night and sleep pretty much all day. I was recently able to turn it back around to a normal sleeping schedule but that was only able to last about 2 weeks or so. Its almost like trying to have a normal schedule is actually backwords for me. Any thougts on this one?

So I ALWAYS feel like crap because I cant eat or sleep correctly. It is driving me nuts. The fact that I have lived under a constant state of extreme nausea for the past 3 years is mind blowing. I would really appreciate any information or suggestions you could give me on these problems of mine. I really need your help!

Well, this might be an eating disorder, nausea right? You must be sick, it's time to make an appointment with a doctor, and you're nocturnal, well, one of my friends had this problem, and her doctor prescribed her something and she got better in no time.

Lemonade is sour and it could hurt your teeth and tongue, so don't drink lemonade. Just drink plain water and milk for health.

Hi A Growing Mind,

You are facing a lot of problems, but they are not incurable. Please make an appointment with a gastroinstestinal specialist and/or a psychiatrist to find out the source of your eating problems. You definitely need some medical intervention and don't put it off.

Anorexia and fast foods do not go together, and why should you want to be anorexic anyway? You need to build a positive self image and build your self esteem as well.

hi,

You must be careful my friend. I suffered with bulimia for 10.5 years.
I was 12 when the nightmare started.

You dont want to go down that root I promise.

Have you seen a doctor?

Please, you must cut out the soda, they will dissolve ur enamel and the high caffeine, sugar my cause Bruxism.

This may be psychlogical as you only find yourself eating junk food.

Why not try healthy shakes instead. I mean if you can drink fizzy drinks, water it means you can down a protein, meal replacement shake.
At least they have nutritional value.

Can you post what you eat EXACTLY on a day to day basis?
what is ur weight?

I have seen a doctor. All he did was give me some prevacid but it just made me feel worse most of the time. I saw him a while back so I guess it wouldnt hurt to give the prevacid another try.

It has been a little over a week now since I decided on no more soda. Its really hard but so far so good.

Since you mentioned it possibly being psychological, I have seen a psychiatrist as well. He drove me nuts. All he did was nod his head at me and tell me that the meds he put me on SHOULD work. After a while of those meds NOT working I tried telling him about it and he said "dont worry they should". So I stopped seeing him on account of him being impossible to talk to.

I guess I could try the shakes like you suggested. That would make things a lot easier I suppose.

The past few weeks all I have had is a turkey sandwich or something along those lines, but the fast food has remained the main source of my diet.

I used to be an extreme athlete. All I did was work out and play sports. After all that stopped is when I hit my phase of anxiety and depression. Now even after I have started to get my mind out of its funk, the eating and sleeping are still problems.

When I stopped playing sports and working out I was about 140 (I was 17) now I weigh a little over 160.

Any ideas as to what my problem might be?

Thanks!

well, I commend you for trying to seek help.
I to have seen 2 psychiatrist is the past in which they both put me on provac.

Even when on provac I was sick upto 20 times a day.
I dont recommend medication as I still think its in your head.

Interesting.
Why have you stopped playing sports?
It seem the problems began when you stopped having any passion for life.
How passionate where you about playing sport?

Most people in my opinion are depressed because they dont know what their purpose is in life.

ask yourself.
what are you good at?
What could you be good at?
what would you like to be good at?

your diet doesnt help with your depression as you are not getting enough vitamins, minerals to support your body.
I think having 2/3 nutritonal shakes will help you in the long run.
I would also recommend vegtable juices, fruit juices.
Also, try taking a multi vitamin everyday.

To relax try buying some himalayan salt and take a bath with them.
Himalayan Salt Baths

what are your hobbies?
