Default adopting a new sleep routine.

Ive been my own boss for a long time and Im used to waking up naturally.
I wake up between 7:30- 9:30 usually, sometimes later...
Today I put the alarm for 8am. First time Ive used my alarm clock in ages.
I feel great even and fully energetic, and without the alarm I couldve easily slept in another hour, but I didnt need to.
Ill keep it at 8 am for two more days then its going to be 7am.

I used to teach, and because I never woke up early during the week, on days when I did have to wake up and go teach, I had white nights, i.e I was too nervous about waking up that I wouldnt fall asleep at all. I always came to teach feeling very under slept. like a zombie. for about 5 years it was like this. It was terrible. I quit. Even though I liked the idea of teaching, and sometimes was good at it. I was always spaced out. I felt such joy when I quit. freedom.
Anyway after a 2 year break, i was offered another teaching job now, at a very good college, I had to said yes. I start next semester. By then I want to be waking up at 7 am every day. maybe even 6:30

I was up at 8 again, but I went to bed at 11. read tll 12:30 am, but my head was so full of thoughts and I couldnt sleep, so I got back up and read, but only felt "like I couldnt read another page" at 3:30 am. 4 and a half hours of sleep.
so now Im pretty tired, but I'll make it through the day.
Ive noticed that with my raw diet its not as bad if I under sleep.

You could try meditation or physical exercise before sleeping.

Another alternative if your body is starting to pump adrenaline the night before is to go to bed so late that you can't help but fall asleep...then catch up on sleep during your lunch break the following day.

Cheers,

Eisho

I did a 1.5 hour workout about 2 hours before, that night.
but still couldnt sleep till 3:30, which was strange.
Yesterday I did get a lot done during the day though.

Last night I slept at 11:30 and woke up at 8:20 without the alarm clock, I was so tired I forgot to set it. Im gonna finish this week at 8am, than next week Ill go for 7:30, maybe 7.
This is a big issue in my life. This is why Im not going straight for the 6:30-7 goal. I need to do it gradually I feel.

My bedtime:

9:00PM.

Sometimes I like extra-computer time so I sleep on 9:40PM.

I wake up on 7:00AM.

Sometimes a little early on 6:50AM.

If I'm late I usually wake up on 7:30AM.

So there.

So your sleeping 10 hours a night! thats a lot.
I dont think I could sleep at 9pm every night.

The night before last I didnt sleep at all.
I had a crazy tooth ache all night and was in so much pain. At 8am I was at the dentist already.
I then went home and slept for 4 hours, and was a bit spaced out all day, even though I attended some important meetings and events.
Went to bed at 1am, woke up at 9am.... I wasnt very disciplined this week.

I hope next week to try for 7:30 with the alarm clock.

Anyway I'm only a child and you only slept for 4 hours? Even though adults are suppose to sleep for 7 hours, and that's not enough sleep for anyone! Only I think the best waking up time is 7:30AM
