I know many of you guys have done raw trials. How do you guys deal with that and your social life? Do you tell people this is something you're trying? Sometimes it just feels like one is being too much of an inconvenience to others.

I didn't make it into a big deal. Normally I'm vegetarian anyway, so I'm used to people asking me why I don't order steak like they do when we go out to eat. I just say I really like ___ (the dish without the meat). If I don't make a big deal out of it, they shouldn't either. When I did the raw, I just said I was hungry for salad tonight. I went out to eat where my friends wanted to go, but I just stuck to the salad bar or a garden salad. |

same as Funchy, although..I fell off the social wagon a bit.. It happend to many people on raw, specially at the beginning of a path. I remember myself listening to hundreds of David Wolfe's mp3 instead of going to the party.. eh.. Friends gave me a space. |

I am currently doing a 7 day raw trial. Today is my 6th day. So far, my folks & neighbours are just wondering how I passed these 5 days without eating any cooked food. When they see that I lost some weight, they too want to try this out. I haven't had much of a social interaction(parties, outings etc) last week, so can't really give a fair answer. My next raw trial would be for 14 days next month. I believe I will have to deal with this issue then. |

I'm on my 16th day all raw. I've completed a month before, and decided it's time for a permanent change. All of my friends are totally supportive and even help me make raw entrees and desserts. I'm a freshman in college and live with two friends and we basically always have 8-10 people over. All of them are fine with it and do not make a big deal about it because they see how enthusiastic I am about it.
