| I'm suffering a nasty cold right now. The problem is mainly in my sinus. Today I have a wicked headache - right over my eyes. I can barely think straight to type this. Anyone have any surefire remedys? I've tried everything I can think of. |

| I agree with Jim. You can also try boiling water on the stove and throwing a towel over your head to trap the steam. That works just about as well. And do LOTS of fluids. Water, tea, etc. This will help clear your system out...

| If steam's not available, try mixing a few (as in 1, maybe 2) drops of peppermint essential oil into like a tablespoon of olive oil. Then put a small drop on the very end of your nostrils. This should clear your nose in no time. Don't use to much or you'll regret it. Also, for general headache relief, a few drops of straight lavender essential oil rubbed into your temples will go a long way. You can keep both the lavender and mint/oil combos in small vials and use as needed throughout the day. It's much handier than steam (although steam is VERY effective). |

| I had a doc friend of mine tell me one of the best ways to remedy a headache is to take a hot shower. Throw your head under a hot flow of water. I'm told the heat expands the capillaries and increase the flow of blood. Works for me.

I have heard that this product, SinusBuster does wonders for clearing sinuses and helping with migraines. The formula is derived from a pepper, and is based on the same sinus clearing effect that you experience after eating spicy food (as noted above by "New Every Day"). It seems to get good reviews from the sinutitus newsgroup. I used it to help with withdrawl from over the counter nasal spray, and didn't find it very effective, but the rebound congestion I experienced isn't specifically a sinus issue.
