Are you interested in doing a 30 early riser trial with me? I've been trying to do this on my own but I'm having some trouble. I'm thinking that connecting with some others who had a similar aspiration will help us all. Strength in numbers right? I haven't decided on a time yet but anything 6:30a or earlier is good for getting me on track. I wanna get started as soon as we can so let me know and we'll work out the details!! |

I'll join you. I've been struggling for ages to get up at 5h00 consistently, not just sometimes. My snooze button is well used. From today I'll be getting up at 5am every morning. I'm going to leap out of bed. I will be using the extra time to meditate and enjoy the beautiful spring/summer weather. (I'm in the southern hemisphere) Love Lisa |

I've been trying a bit of this myself. I've been getting up at 5 as much as I can. If I'm not out of town, I try and make sure I'm swimming by 6. It's been kind of working, I'm pretty consistent throughout the week, but weekends are still tough. I set the alarm for 6 on Sat & Sun, but still go back to sleep for a bit. I'm in, I wanna keep this experiment going. I like the early mornings.

I have been doing this on and off for while now. Never lasted more than 2.5 weeks straight. I will do this with all of you. Starting Oct 22nd for 30 days straight I will wake up at 5:30 or earlier. Thanks for starting this thread |

Here's a list of those participating so far: Raji Kabe65 Eruso Lisa McGregor If anybody else wants to jump in it's not too late. I expect that all of you will be doing this. Not trying, doing. Support will be shared by all. You can also update here daily on how you're doing. Part of the reason we're doing this together is accountability and support. If you fail or are having trouble I'll be here for support and I expect all of you guys to do the same for me. Don't be afraid to ask for help! Your success is just as important to me as mine. We all want this and we're all capable of accomplishing it together. I'll be posting everyday here for the next 30 days about my progress. And tomorrow I'll be waking up at 5:30am!!! I'm excited guys! Remember to set those alarms tonight |

I set my alarm for 5am this morning and was out of bed by 5h15. Mad with myself for not getting up immediately but at least I didn't hit the snooze button. I was immediately awake and did some stretches under the covers By 5h30 I was showered and ready to meditate. Normally I only get out of bed at 6h30 so I'm quite pleased. Tomorrow I'm aiming to get up immediately the alarm goes. Anybody got any tips on how to get a ten year old boy out of bed? Good Luck everyone. L |

I'm up!! It's 5:55a right now, getting up today was very easy. I don't feel tired but I know if I got into my bed I could very easily go right back to sleep so I'm staying away. Lisa, here's three strategies I use for getting up right away. 1. I keep the alarm out of reach from my bed. This way I actually have to get up and out to turn it on. 2. I keep the clock face down so I can't see the time. This is purely psychological. When I wake up and see a time that my mind feels is early, it's like my subconscious takes over and makes me go back to bed. I don't like to see it. 3. On the way to turning the alarm off I turn on the light. I'm pretty sure Steve has an article on how to get up right when your alarm goes off. Good job on Day One!! |

I set my alarm to 5:00am and was up at 5:00. Did some deep breathing, yoga and a mile on treadmill. Am able to get about 20 min of studying in, all before my little baby is up. So very pleased with myself today.

Alarm was set for 5, I got up and was half awake until 5:30ish when I actually got out of bed. I don't know what it is about rainy mornings. I could have easily gotten up at 5, but with the weather doing what is was, I had no desire to get out of bed right away. I've gotta work on that. But I was up before 6, so I'm still pretty happy with that.

A day late, but I would like to join this 30-day experiment as well. It synchronisticly fits with other choices I'm making now, such as eating more raw (vegan) foods. I've said over and over again that I want to get up before the kids, not after. Do some Tai Chi, have a little time to myself, get everything ready for when my little ones wake up. So this is perfect! 5:30 will give me plenty of time for everything, and I really could use the accountability to get started. Excellent idea, and way to go this morning! |

Wow - don't know how I missed this but I want to join in!!! My target time is 6am but that means that I must also put in a goal of being in bed by 10:30pm. This is fantastic - thanks! I'm starting tomorrow. I'm update here M-F signins and M-S sign-offs. |

Coincidentally I've been getting up before 5am for the last 2 days(studying for exams)! I found out that I'm about twice as productive in the very early morning than later in the day...Count me in. PS: I'm in the middle of 2 other 30 day trials, Day 12 for running 2.6 miles per day, and Day 10 of no soda. Is it bad that I'm starting all of these at different times, should they all be done in unison? |

Awake again! It took me an extra minute to get out of bed today, I think it might be because I went to bed later yesterday than I did on the previous two days. I'm still up. Quote:

Thanks for the advice guys. And I'm up as well. It was funny, my roommate was out all night and just came back at 4:45am, so I pretty much got up right then. I'm just worried about the weekend, the original incentive to get up early was to do work, but on the weekend, I hardly ever do work. Tomorrow could be really tough. Any suggestions? |

1. Go for a run/walk 2. Meditate 3. Do some exercises 4. Sleep in - you deserve it and it is Saturday after all. Lisa p.s. I was also up at 5am. 3 days in a row. I'm feeling really good. Not tired at all. L | |

I was up at 5:00am as well. 10% of the trail done and 90% to go I am a little concerned about the weekend as well. I am telling myself, just get up and do anything for about 1hr and then go back to sleep if need to or take a nap in the afternoon, I love taking naps in the afternoons BTW. |

5am on the dot today Buy yeah, I'm wondering how the weekend is going to go. I have such a hard time staying consistent. I'll shoot for 6 and see what happens. The pools not open early on weekends though....so maybe I'll have to try the walk/run for the before-bright-and-early exercise. |

First weekend day and I'm up. This has been pretty easy so far. Knowing that other people are doing it with me is definitely helping. I would have went back to bed today if it wasn't for that. |
