Default Psychiatry actually creates mental illness instead of curing it!

No, this has got nothing to do with scientology. This is information from people in the know about how the whole drug and medicine industry works. I'm sure many of you had the uneasy feeling about antipsychiatry when it comes to "treating mental illness".

It is your intuition telling you all along that something is very much not quite right with psychiatry. Firstly many of what is classified as mental illness really isn't mental illness at all.

A rather heavy-handed article, and no references to any studies that back up this person's opinion.

Psychiatric drugs do not in any way cure the patient or even make him or her feel better.
Wow, what a sweeping generalization. Very unimpressed.

There may be some valid points in this article discussed in other journals or websites but this is written by an unqualified layperson with no background in psychiatry, no citations or acknowledgments from experts with the psychiatric community.

"but this is written by an unqualified layperson"

Ah yes... "qualifications"...
And which peer reviewed journal do you imagine is going to admit that they're inventing "diseases" and "disorders" so that THEY can drug you and "fix" you?

You can find many other references and studies at The Antipsychiatry Coalition

Especially this one about the drugs and techniques used in psychiatry:

It just comes across as more unsubstantiated opinion piece aimed at shock value rather than a well researched article. Including some referenced studies or citations by credible sources or maverick psychiatrists would give it a bit more credibility.

Having said that I don't disagree with what is being put forward in the article. I am very much of the belief that the medical establishment in alliance with the drug manufacturers are happy with a society that is sick and reliant on their treatments. It is one thing to express such an opinion and quite another to put forth such assertions contained in the article without backing them up.
