i have minor TMJ syndrome -- just in my jaw area. i'm curious to see how other people have treated this issue (i just started acupuncture and it makes a *huge* difference) my lil sister has it all over her body though.. every joint clicks. anyone ever had it cured? |

TMJ stands for temporomandibular joint so it's pretty jaw specific. I find it is always worse when I am stressed out. It gave me tons of grief a few years ago, but now I barely notice it, except when I am really super tense! I do stretch to loosen the muscles in my neck and shoulder, moist heat etc. For me, since it is stress related, I have found that the best muscle to relax is my mind. You can get bite guards that some people find helpful; I've never shelled out the $$$, though. BIG THING: don't pop it on purpose- it's a cool party trick, |
