Default Is this normal?

For some reason, whenever I do upper body workouts I do as many reps as I can before stopping. However, the next time I do an upper body workout (2 days later) I always end up doing the same amount of reps that I did last time. Whenever I do lower body workouts, on the other hand, I always do 10 more reps than I did the last time I did a lower body workout (2 days earlier).

Therefore, I am able to improve when it comes to lower body workouts, but I cannot improve when it comes to upper body workouts. Is this normal?

My upper body workout consists of pullups, chinups and pushups. My lower body workout consists of body weight squats and calf raises. I do upper body workouts on tuesdays, thursdays and saturdays. I do lower body workouts on mondays, wednesdays and fridays.

Well, with lower body workouts you do as many reps as you can before stopping too?
Silly question, but you don't specify.

Also, do you warm up?

Yes, when I do calf raises I always do them until failure. The next time I do them, I always do 10 more reps than I did previously. When I do body weight squats, however, I do not do them until failure because I do not want to be completely sore for a week straight and not be able to workout for a week. I just simply add 10 more reps each time to build my way up.

I warm up and stretch every time--for both upper body and lower body.

lower body often recovers faster due to more blood flow because we are walking around all day but barely use our upper body muscles.
