Default I just don't feel healthy.

Hi, all,

I try my best, I really do. I eat a reasonable diet and keep portion sizes healthy. I bounce between kung fu and tai chi/yoga depending on how my back is feeling; these days it hurts quite a bit, so I'm opting for the tai chi/yoga route. I eat little meat and drink one sweetened beverage per day (never soda). I drink little caffeine -- just a couple of cups of tea per day. I get plenty of sleep.

And yet I don't feel as healthy as I'd like. I always have aches and pains that seem to arise from stress, I sleep too much and get up too late, I feel anxious and distracted, I have no focus, and I don't have that jump-out-of-bed-in-the-morning feeling that I'd like to have. I feel unmotivated and lack energy.

Any suggestions on how to take my health to the next level?

Thanks,

FW

Maybe you're focusing too much on the physical. Is the rest of your life out of whack?

What would it take to make you feel totally, over the top, excited about life?

Good question, Dan. I don't know what it would take for me to get out of bed excited to greet the day. I like my job okay, but it doesn't exactly generate excitement after 11 years. I also have no goals other than financial, and even though I've tried many techniques, I haven't been able to find my passion.

But I'd still like to boost my health as I'm always feeling not quite well. What do you do, healthwise, when you're not feeling 100%?

One can't just block off all other aspects of health [focusing just on the physical] and expect to be fully healthy.

If you work at a job you dislike, even a little, it can play a big role in your physical health. Maybe you are a little sad at work and unconsciously slouch, maybe you hate the re-circulated air in the office and don't breathe in as deeply, and so on...

Your health is great for where you're at. If you want to improve your physical health then you first must improve the other aspects of your life.

Think of it as building a foundation on the house. You got the front area all perfect, even have the mailbox on the darn house and numbers on the siding but you neglected the back end of the house; there's no wall back there! How can you expect to put a roof on it like that?

I'd tend to agree with Zwynd here.

I personally play sports or do something competitive when I feel down -- softball, tennis, shoot pool, frisbee golf, hackey sack (that one's free,) or I go for a hike or a jog.

Sometimes I'll call old friends and catch up. That usually puts things in perspective somewhat.

Ya this happened to me as well. I was feeling my self not so healthy and was lacking in motivation. My advise is that you should quit every thing ,go out for vocations and when you will return back -you will found yourself much more motivated.Physical health is directly linked with your mental health and some times you need to relax a bit.

Thnk you for all your suggestions! I'm starting to realize that my physical ailments may be related to stress. Last year when had too many writing assignments, I had stomachaches and headaches.. I don't feel stressed right now, but my husband and I are in the middle of adopting so maybe my subconscious is frightened or anxious. I've been reading a book on stress which has a lot of helpful suggestions, and have been meditating and doing tai chi, which helps. I also found that just doing diaphragmatic breaths whenever I think of it has made my headaches feel somewhat better.

Thanks again,

FW

Like many have suggested it maybe stress making you feel the way you do. Yeah you are living a healthy lifestyle but stress can make it feel like you are not. Keep with the exercise though it can help some on the stress. I bet if you were not exercising the stress would seem even worst.

One thought, don't forget to be eating plenty too. I am at the point of my training where I have to make sure I eat plenty. And I have noticed now that I make sure I eat many smaller meals I feel better. I am not suggesting stuffing your face. But a starving body is not a healthy body too.

I hope things get better good luck

Well done for taking kung fu and tai chi. Do you actually know the detailed reasons of these arts? It is health. But one must study this before knowing what great benefit lies within them, especially tai chi. Most people use it as a form of exercise, but this is linked to energy (life force) healing.

Do you meditate? I advise you meditate. You will find the answers to all your questions within.

Doing physical exercises is great, but if you do not do anything to keep your organs healthy and rejuvenated, you will only be draining your organ system by doing things like weight training. Chinese call it Chi, japanese call it Ki, and in the western world, the concept of chi is rarely used. Lets just say chi is our blood. The key to health, is within the blood. To keeping the blood pure and healthy.

Blood is what rejuvenates your organs, your mind, and everything else! (altho you do need positive thinking, as mind-body links can destory you with negative thoughts). But blood, will rejuvenate your system.

How do you make purified blood? or get it?

Blood is made in bone marrow...there lies the secret. You need to stimulate bone marrow to produce healthier blood as well as detoxify every 1-2 months for a month (i reccomend herbal tea as i have personally seen infinite benefits from this. Look for kidney and liver detoxifying tea, but assuming you have no phsyical health problems relating to those organs).

I will not reveal everything here. But i have given you all the information you need to get started. Remember, bone marrow is the key to health. Also remember, pharma industry will do all they can to prevent you to find natural ways to heal yourself (after all they are a business, and that is their best interest, no matter what the FDA or whatever say) so keep an open mind. PM me for details.
