Default My sister smells like fruit.

Hello everyone

For a long time, I have noticed a faint fruity smell every time I'd go in to my sister's room. No one else seems to notice it. Now recently it has gotten stronger. I can now even smell it when she comes near me, or breaths on me. Is this something to worry about? Or is this just how she smells. It doesn't come from lotion, or perfume, it's coming from her. Is her body producing too much of something?

Thanks for your help!

When the body is producing ketones, it sometimes gives an body odor that smells like fermented fruit or in general a bad breath. Is she dieting? Carb free weight loss diets will make your body go in to ketosis. Another thing that produces ketones is diabetes.
You should confront her or tell your parents to be aware.
good luck.

If it is not a lotion or some such thing, i would have her take a blood sugar test. One of the signs of diabetes is a fruity smell.
If someone is a noncompliant diabetic, their fruity breath gives them away pretty quickly. this is not necessary true for all diabetics, but it is true more often then not.
