Which would be more difficult to do? 1.) Water-only fast or 2.) Eating only the following foods: TVP (Textured Vegetable Protein), frozen organic asparagus, organic oranges with the peel, taking vitamin and mineral supplements (no supplements containing fat), and only drinking water. |

Just out of curiosity, what is it with you and difficult diets and fasts? Which type of fast takes the most discipline? |

I'm not sure the point of the question. I've completed a number of fasts a number of different ways. Most of them were in excess of 14 days. However, what does the difficulty have to do with anything? If you want a fasting ordeal just take water only for 21 or more days. But really according to my knowledge and from my personal experience fasting can be dangerous if your body is already over-burdened. Our bodies are more then capable of detoxifying themselves if given half a chance. Don't eat anything that comes out of a man made packet, that has been sprayed with herbicide, pesticide, fungicide, or rodenticide, that has been grown using chemical fertilizer, that has been given hormones or antibiotics, drink lots of water, eat what your ancient ancestors ate, eat in season, get a daily does of about 10 minutes of non-peak sunlight and get the right amount of the right kind of exercise for your body's current ability to handle stress and the rest will take care of itself. This may come as a surprise but your cells need fat as does your immune system. You also need cholesterol to produce hormones. Cholesterol is the basic building block of most of our important sex hormones. People on cholesterol lowing medication are at an extreme risk of depression, aggression and suicide. Your brain is also made of cholesterol as are any scars you might have. Don't get me started on useless vitamins synthesized in a lab and those produced from sick pesticide ridden plants. Further, no vitamin functions in a vacuum. Nowhere in nature can you find a vitamin C plant. Vitamins function together in a complex relationship not currently understood. One simple example is vitamin D is needed for calcium absorption in the gut. No vitamin D no healthy bones no matter how much calcium intake you have. The best source of vitamin D is sunlight. Oh and to get vitamin D from sunlight you need cholesterol. Don't get me wrong. I'm not bagging taking vitamins. When I was really sick with chronic fatigue I had intravenous vitamin C. Around 10,000mg at a time. Since that time this practice has been shown to help with cancer. I also had vitamin B complex and magnesium injections. However I was sleeping 17 hours a day and uselessly exhausted the rest of the time. This is not something a normal person wishing to be healthier should be doing. Eat clean whole food like you're made to and you'll be well like you're supposed to. Don't and you wont. It's not complicated. Stephen
