One of the biggest questions that I get is how to get motivated to workout. Unfortunately, I really can’t tell you how you can motivate YOU. Everyone is different in many ways. You have to find your own “Why.” Why do you want to work out? Why do you want to be fit? Your “why” could be because you want to be feel more attractive. It could be because you want to have more confidence with your shirt off. Or perhaps, it could be because you want to be healthier and be able to keep up with your kids. Or maybe because you just want to be healthier. What ever your why is, it has to be very strong. Your why is what will give you the drive to push yourself. If your “Why” is not strong enough, then you will not be able to get yourself motivated or be able to give 100% effort to every workout. Share your “why's” here. |

| I doubt that he got that way by working out. But anyways, Pitt bashing aside. My Why obviously isn't strong enough to counter my natural aversion to starting new habits, but it goes something like this. I do aerobic exercise to feel better mentally, and when I was lifting, I liked the sense of making tangible, physical progress. It also boosted my self-confidence a little. It probably has a little to do with being ADD; I liked doing something other than mental work. I enjoyed doing it. I'm beginning to enjoy doing it again. If you don't enjoy doing it, you'd better have one heck of a Why. |

Because since I first picked up some weights when I was seven years old I've always enjoyed the feeling of at least to some degree fulfilling my human potential for strength and health. I love progression. Getting stronger and more capable of handling at least physically almost anything that comes my way. Exercise builds my will as well. Which is something I also enjoy and has many handy uses in life. Also post chronic fatigue if I don't exercise for about 6 months then I would get sick again. I probably also enjoy the feel good chemicals my brain release each time I exercise. Finally, if I don't keep up my training I'll get my ass kicked when I spar or roll. I don't like to loose. Especially in boxing. Looks are nice but they just come with the territory. I don't even do an ab routine. Stephen |

Because I love the glowing power that emanates from my core. I love the joy and abundance that spreads through my limbs and my mind when I move my body, making me mighty in living my purpose. And because I love to have an endorphin party every day!

I like the feeling of making progress and improving myself. I had hoped it would make me feel more attractive (it hasn't, really, though people do tell me I look better). I think exercising regularly makes me feel happier throughout the day, and helps me sleep better (I've definitely noticed these changes in the past year, but exercising regularly is just one of the changes I've made over this period, so I don't know how much of a contribution the exercise has made)
