Default How much is the vegetarian/vegan/raw food diet healthier than a "normal" one?

Hi, I'm interested in this question very much, since I always hear how better these diets are, much more energy, mental clarity...
But what I want to know is how often you vegans(vegetarian, raw food) get sick.
And also, if anyone, who is vegan(...) for more than a year now : how many serious disease did you have since the diet change? What about cancer or organ-related problems?
Please tell me as much as you want, but I really would like to know how much healthier it is from this perspective...

I don't know how much it would be healthier for you. But the answer is simple: try it out!

I for my part am never sick Not even when the whole family is sick around me.

In general there isn't much new information that you can get on the topic of whether being vegan is more healthy by asking a few people in this forum.
There are some studies that conclude that eating no meat is more healthy than eating some.

Anecdotal evidence:

after being a raw vegetarian for a short amount of time, switching back to a normal diet a few weeks ago made me feel like, hmm, how can I say it so that my language remains positive, ah yes: there was room for improvement.

As a matter of fact, there was A LOT of room for improvement.

My wife and I have been 99% vegan for 1.5 years.

We still get sick a few times a year but the symptoms are milder and go away faster.
We still get acne but it's much milder.
We still get cold sores but they go away sooner.
My asthma disappeared.
My skin is less dry.
We feel 5x healthier and more energetic than before.
We look much better and we are happier.

I like your answer. It is straight, practical and realistic.

The key is not just to be vegan, but to eat lots of green veggies, fruits, legumes, nuts and seeds. While getting rid of the meat and the dairy etc. is great and healthy, it is still important to make sure you are not a "junk food vegan."
