| So, I read Steve's going Raw blog, and it's really inspiring. My whole life, I have been active through sports, so Diet wasn't much of a concern for me. I was burning off massive calories per day in practise, I was young with a fast metabolism. However since I graduated college, my activity levels have dropped, and I am forced to start watching my diet more. I knew it was a problem, I just didn't know how to attack it. There is so much (mis)information out there, that its hard to decide what's real and what's fake. Steve's blog has really inspired me to start eating more healthy (not raw but more healthy), and that's where I need your help. I definately want to incorporate more healthy foods into my diet. For breakfasts, I have decided on health-conscious cereals like bran flakes with some fresh fruit. I usually don't even eat breakfast. As a post breakfast snack, I have decided to make some fruit smoothies (possibly green smoothies). I just bought a whole bunch of ingrediants this afternoon to play arround with. However lunch is sort of stumping me, I definately want to go with vegetables. I think a large salad is a good route, but I have to be conscious of dressings as they are the fastest way to sabotage an otherwise healthy meal. So my question to you guys, does any one have any recipes for healthy, but tastey salad dressings? I would love to hear em! Thanks! |

| Eat breakfast!!!! They don't just say "It's the most important meal of the day" for nothing! When you don't eat breakfast it slows your metabolism for the rest of the day. Breakfast also kick starts your brain (it runs off a significant amount of energy, without breakfast no energy). |

| Saladdressing: virgin olive oil, add garlic and pepper, in a air tight can.Leave it for a few days. Now you have spicy oil or Same oil mixed with French mustard. or Remove vinegar and replace it with lemon juice. Smoothies: Banana and brocoli Watermelon and watercress Apple and cucumber Although I am not a Raw Eater, I must admit that eating raw for at least 75% of my total intake or eating raw until diner, gave me a better focus and more energy. Also waking up early went more energetic. And that after 5 days of trial. By serious cravings I order a Veggie Delite at Subways. So I have a healthy escape if I need emotional eating, hihi.
