Start buying vegan groceries. There are delicious substitutes for almost everything. Is there a Whole Foods in your city?

Eat the meat substitutes. All the taste, none of the death.

Gardenburger Riblets.
Gardenburger Herb Crusted Cutlets
Gardenburger Flame Grilled burgers
Boca Crumbles (like ground beef, good in tacos and stews)
Nate's vegan meatballs and chicken nuggets
There are taquitos (beef and chicken flavor)

All kinds of yummies.

Isn't vegan meatballs an oxymoron. Just call them vegan balls.

I am just curious. How often do you drink alcohol? How much sugar do you eat? Do you eat milk products (cheese, milk, yogurt, etc.)? Do you drink coffee, green tea?

What did it for me was watching the movie "Earthlings." Do a search on Google video. The whole thing is posted there.

konmai, What are your reasons for giving up meat? Are they *your* reasons, or do you just think you should? I struggled with giving up coffee - part of the reason I struggled is because my reasons were nebulous, stuff I had read, etc. Once I had a concrete reason for my own self - my intuition is lowered when I use coffee - I quit without looking back, or wanting any at all. It was no longer any kind of struggle.

no alcohol. i don't like milk products. actually, i think i'm just too lazy to incorporate them into my diet, since they spoil before i consume them. i don't have a lot of sugar in my food. maybe just a pinch in a stir fry dish. i like licking limes. so not much of a sweets person. i usually just drink water and probably have about 2 cans of sodas a month. other than that, no coffee. no tea. mostly purified water.

i've watched earthlings a while ago, and it was really sad too watch. i still eat meat.

vegan balls don't sound too appealing, jeremy, although vegan meatballs doesn't sound too appealing either.

i definitely don't want to eat for my own reasons. not that i should not eat meat. i really want not to eat meat. it's like a drug to me. i've never smoked or drank, but instead, it's meat.

i think i'll try some meat substitutes and see how that goes. i do have a whole foods in my city. it's just not within walking distance. i walk everywhere, and i'm working on improving my strength so that i can bike.

anymore advice or insights are more than welcome! thanks everyone!
