Default Pictures or no pictures on this raw food website.

Hey guys. I'm building a website to help others learn about a healthy raw food diet. I hope to earn income off of it when I start to monetize it as well.

I have a question about images on the site, though.

I personally prefer a more spartan look of just text on my pages. Steve does this for his blog posts. The text is divided by headers, but there are rarely images.

But everyone that I've talked to about my site says that it definitely needs images to spice it up. If you look around, you can see some pages that I've added one image to, while others I've added up to three.

I was wondering what you guys think about the issue. Do you not like the pages with no or few images? Why does it work with Steve's site and not mine?

Any thoughts welcome about pictures or my site in general.

The site is Raw Food Health: A Lifestyle Of Energy, Health, Strength And Joy

Thanks for your time and thoughts.

The stomach learns to reach a larger capacity when eating a raw food diet.

Ever see monkeys or apes tear through banana after banana? Same deal here. Your stomach expands to handle the meal.

I read most of the material and Your site seems to be coming along well. Very Interesting Stuff! I think the pictures should stay. Even though they don´t bring much content, they look good and invite the reader to the text.

for me, what you have right now is fine. pictures aren't always necessary for some topics, but perhaps for RAW education, it would be helpful like before and after pics, people on RAW, etc.... it won't be needed on every page on article though, & i think what's important for me is that there aren't too many pictures to clog my view.

now the yellow & light blue link on the left blinds me though.

Your site looks nice. I'm considered really good at judging overall aesthetics - not judging - more like hitting the nail on the head when it comes to overall first impressions - so I'll indulge:

It's clean. Maybe too clean (?)
(personally I'm a minimalist, so you're fine with me)

there needs to be more links to click on, tho the ones you have there are great.

the pic of you is good. that's a good thing.

there's just something... missing... some, as the French say, Je ne sais quoi?
(I don't know what)

it's like it needs more of something, tho I have no idea what.

sorry, that's all I got. Hope it helps in some small way.

No problem. I'll be on the lookout for something to ad. The site is by no means finished, so maybe it'll get added in good time.

I've been giving some thought to before and after pictures of others, and I'm trying to come up with a way to monetize it. Hopefully I'll have something soon.

Thanks for the suggestion.

A very inspiring site. But one quqstion, a watermelon is 42 kcal every 100g so do you eat 41kg of watermelon each morning?

My caloric requirements vary greatly from day to day depending on the amount of calories I'm going to be burning off. I might go on a five hour bike ride on the weekends but perhaps only a 30 minute run during the week. Obviously, on the bike day I'd have to eat many more calories.

That being said, watermelon is very low in calories by weight. Bananas, by comparison, are significantly higher. If you're worried about calories, eat fruit that is more calorie dense.

But it's not unusual at all for me to down half of a watermelon for breakfast. Sometimes I'll eat an entire large watermelon in two sittings. It all depends on what my needs are that day.

On days when I'm expecting to need more calories, I'll stick to calorically denser fruit for most of my meals. Sunday is usually my day off from exercise and I try to sleep a lot. Other than some light yoga, I'm very static, so I might only eat half a watermelon, 20 bananas, and a big salad of a head of lettuce, cucumbers, and tomatoes.

That's what I'm doing today, in fact.

Hope that explains it. Let me know if you still have questions.
