Default What would you do?

I am looking at doing another ultramarathon. The problem is this race finishes on top of a mountain. But, the mountain is not my problem. The problem is due to flood waters taking out roads the race will be the same distance but not near the mountain. I kinda wanted the bragging rights of saying I ran 36 miles and finished on top of a mountain. So I thought maybe just do it next year. This is not my big dream race September is my big race. Not doing it gives me more time to train for my Ironman in September about two more weeks. But, then I wonder if I am just playing mind games trying to get out of it. I feel I can run the distance I already did an ultramarathon in April close to the same distance. Well I thought I would throw my dilemma out to you.

Thanks for your time.

I am a big believer in choice. If this race does not achieve your goals I see no reason for you to participate. Is there any downside to just waiting for next year that you are aware of?

I would think that any race would be a good experience for you go for, unless you think it will really hinder your performance in another, more important race.
