I'm posting this a little in advance for the accountability factor. I've been wanting to give up coffee for a long time, but the addiction is so strong that even if I miss one of my two cups per day I suffer big-time. I have wanted to give it up as I suffer from irritable bowel syndrome, and it is a major aggravation for the symptoms. But what with the cravings and my love for coffee, I just haven't had the will to let go..... But now I have a plan, inspired by Steve and this article from Zen Habits. Starting on 2 July, I will replace coffee with a lot of green tea to at least maintain the caffeine dependence without the nasty side-effects. I'll add in some fresh juice, dandelion tea, and whatever else I need. I tried using Teecino in the past and it did not agree with me, so I'll stick with this regime. I hope to gradually wean off of the green tea to the place of being caffeine-free. And then, after the 30 days, I can choose whether or not I want to drink coffee again. It will be a great feeling, from empowerment and liberation.

I really do not know why Coffee is always given a bad rap ?????? Information on Coffee with disease prevention benefits at MedicineNet.com benefits of coffee - Google Search Now. If you're drinking the typical American brand coffee, then I understand. (What with pesiticides, and presevatives added.) But you drink Organic coffee with very clean water, it is very healthy for you.

I don't really care for whether coffee is bad or not right now, my main concern is personal mastery. Considering I have developed physiological dependence on caffeine, such that I feel a lot of pain from withdrawal, it makes sense to be free from that dependence. I'm a true coffee lover, and I don't think that'll change......but I must master it, not it master me.
