Hi, everyone ! Recently I trained myself to become an ER. One morning when I managed to get up early and had few spare hours I decided to devote them to ER training. I did some 20 cycles this morning with very good results - in following mornings I staggered out of my bed and went to the shower unconscious just the moment I hear my cellphone ringing. But then I bought a new cellphone with different ringtones and it seems that it didn't works anymore I see 2 ways out of the situation: 1) use old cellphone as an alarm watch 2) reprogram myself to new ringtone However this seems interesting to me that I have conditioned me to one ringtone, not to alarm signal as such. What do you think ?

I'd train yourself on multiple ringtones. Maybe stick with the old ringtone until it is habit and then switch? Or another alternative might be to have both cell phones go off at the same time. The reason I suggest this is what happens if your old cell phone breaks? Or what if you want to get an actual alarm clock? To me the true benefit lies in being able to get up in the morning and be fully conscious. Unfortunately I'm at the point where I wake up, walk into the other room to turn off the alarm clock... and then get back into bed for another 30 minutes or so lol. Either I need to build up my discipline and willpower or find a way to prevent myself from going back to bed. I think once I take over the master bedroom (I just bought the house my brother and I were renting, he got married and is moving out) it'll be easier cause I can hop straight into the shower. Out of curiosity what time do you wake up?

I am getting up at 4am. Yes, the shower is the factor that really wakes me up and after that I did't want to go back to bed. When I was young, I used to go under cold water, but now I discovered that hot water works best.

| Since the start of this month I have been doing a meditation practice followed by yoga each morning. I find it easier to get up if there is a tangible reason for doing so. I am now getting up at 5.45 instead of 6.30, so not as hardcore as you I set the alarm on my mobile phone and put it away from the bed so I have to get up to switch it off

yea, tangible reason dosn't work for me but also as Steve described, unconscious conditioning did the job - I got out of bed every morning without even thinking
