| I have been lurking for a few days, also been interested in polyphasic and biphasic sleeping for a while, but never given it serious consideration until now. I still have some concerns and questions, but I believe I have engineered a schedule that will work for me (at least on paper). It's a 4.5 core and 1.5 nap. The one part that seems a little different is when I would do these. My schedule is such that would like my evenings with my wife/friends, and I work from home during the summer and will be doing my Ph.D research this fall at my own hours (early mornings to early afternoon). Thus I plan on doing the following: 15:00 - 16:30: nap 22:30 - 03:00: core sleep This will enable me to go to bed with my wife and also to have my early evenings. It also doesn't screw with my meals, so long as I can get lunch in by 1:00pm at the absolute latest. I have a quiet house in a quiet neighborhood for my nap, and a dark bedroom. I have no distractions after this weekend (an all-day conference) for me to go ahead and go through the adaption. Is this realistic and workable for a newbie? Is there anything I should consider changing? Any suggestions and criticism is encouraged. I have considered logging it here, as my own blog is much too serious for this. Is that going to be a problem? Would there be a benefit? Thanks! |

| Well, here is the first problem: I LEFT MY PHONE ON! So my afternoon nap got cut short as I received three calls. |
