Lightbulb Sleeping less than an hour a day.

heres a question.

would it be possible to do Polyphasic sleep with naps consisting of not 30 mins(as in uberman shcedule, the one steve tried) but only consisting of micro-naps (2 to 5mins). (maybe some power naps afrer the conditioning).

could you then condition your body to hit REM within a minute and keep that to 5, then wake up.

so, maybe you could either spread these naps over a few hours, or keep that minimum gap which is suggested(90 mins).

so you sleep 5 mins every 90 mins, thats quite easy to find in anyones shcedule.

and effectively you would be sleeping 1 hour a day.

What do you think?

-Il probably go for uberman first, then after i have succeded there, i will try and see this kind of thing.

You can't sleep for just one hour a day. It's not possible.

I don't think so, you certainly can't deduce from the uberman shedule that it would work.

Don't underrate the extreme difficulty of polyphasic sleep.

I say go for it! Just don't get your hopes up.

Polyphasic is hard enough. I've tried and failed, and so have most others.

I would say at least this part is possible, as during my time in college it was fairly common for me to take naps where I began dreaming in less than a minute, and woke up within 6-10 minutes. I never gave uberman a serious attempt because I didn't have enough pressing things to justify doing in lieu of sleep (which I generally find quite enjoyable, with a healthy dose of vivid, often lucid dreams). I recommend planning a list of things to be doing beforehand, with a moderate physical component.

that is fascinating.... hm..

within a minute..

maybe this might work then..

it does sound a bit crazy.. but. would you then force your REM to come earlier and then your body to push all the quality of the REM into 5 mins..

so you condition your body to give you sifficient amount of REM within the 5mins.

i will try this hopefully after i succeed the uberman schedule(dymaxion sounds too hard to get used too).

this is getting interesting...
