Gabriel's website does not say much, however; in the things to discover section he mentions many concepts that sound like CHEK Institute philosophies on eating:

1. Eating too much is not the problem, it's the quality of food that's the problem. (Raw, organic foods > than processed, pasteurized preserved foods etc.)

2. Your body puts on fat from stress in your environment (Work stress, spiritual stress, physical stress from putting the wrong foods in your gut and having your body process unhealthy food) The body reacts to stress by putting on fat. In Eastern philosophy if stress = fire and fat = water, your body uses fat to put the stress out, much like fire is put out with water.

3. Starving yourself and exercising too much help keep fat on your body because these things stress the body resulting in the body producing fat to protect itself.

I haven't bought his book although, I would be willing to bet money that these are the types of concepts he is using.

Default Nutrition

The Gabriel method basically works on the premise that your body doesn't get what it needs from junk foods, and thus makes you eat more and more until the proper nutrients are given.

Jon Gabriel teaches you how to incorporate what your body needs into your diet so that your body stops trying to eat everything. He compares it to feeding a baby pepsi when it really wants breast milk. No matter what, it'll keep drinking pepsi due to ignorance until it gets the nutrients that breast milk provides.

As I said before, this concept is covered in my blog and in many weight loss programs. Nothing new

Nothing new, but still overlooked by many. I have lost 30kgs in the 6 months or so since I got Jon's book. I highly recommend it as required reading fore everyone.

His CD is good, but I think the nevereverdiet guided meditations are better and along the same lines.

Love
Marie

This page on losing weight has a Google ad on it for the Gabriel method with before and after pictures. It is obvious that he is doing bodybuilding which burns more calories than anything and also reshapes the body. Now if he were a lumberjack and did not exercise, then he could look like that, but a job like that is exercise.

The earlier posts here, indicated that they feel this book is a scam. I guess it is what you want to believe it to be. I know from personal experience that you CAN manifest change though meditation and desire. Emphasis on the desire! Meditation just help you focus on the desire. The Gabriel Method is not a diet book, it's a book on how to evolk change. Particularly life style change. I've personally known several people, me included, that have changed to consuming raw foods and have gone from 300 lbs + to there ideal weight. So all you non believers, if you're not willing to make some changes in what you eat, don't knock it until you've tried it. The truth is, it's pretty easy to eat healthy, but it does take a little more effort and preperation than driving through the drive through window at McDonalds! If you're not willing to put some effort forth, of coarse it's not going to work for you. Kinda like life!

Default The GM is the only way to live

Please stop dieting. Please stop looking for a magic pill. Please understand that you have to remove processed DEAD foods out of your life. We are animals. I know that is hard for you to understand or acknowledge, but that is exactly what we are: animals. We only understand a few basic things about foods: 1) We need it to survive, 2) Our bodies were created to digest whole, organic foods and 3) Our bodies are resilient machines that are amazing works of science/God, whatever you wish to believe. It will allow you to poison your body with these dead foods because it is so efficient at keeping you alive. But, it will store it as fat, because the body believes that you are experiencing a famine and you need the fat to survive. It is not getting the NUTRIENTS, MINERALS and VITAMINS it needs to sustain your ideal weight from Processed, dead foods. The minute you take these foods out of your life and replace them with whole foods (organic vegetables, fruits, eggs, lean meats, fish, sprouted grains, etc.) your body will start to believe that the famine is over and you can start shedding the fat you have stored. The fat is ONLY there to protect you.. when the body no longer needs it, the body no longer WANTS it. There is no diet made up of cookies, bacon, and frappacinos that will keep you thin for life. The only way to live is through what Jon suggests: a whole food lifestyle, preferrably organic (get rid of antibiotics, hormones and pesticides that are literally killing you) that nourish your body and will keep you thin and healthy FOR LIFE.

Just wanted to say that, The Gabriel Method is really great... Sceptics need to read it before rejecting it. It is about uderstanding how your body works and leaving behind the idea that we have to DIET to stay thin...

I am reading it at the moment - I wanted to see what it offers that is different to the Pual Mckenna program which to me it seems to owe a lot to... so far I am a little let down that the "not a diet" cliams are a thin disguise for a rawfood/livefood diet with massive supplementation but I am interested in exploring the emotional side of weight managemnt from his perspective.

Default The Gabriel Method

Gabriel's method teaches you how to loose weight without dieting. It's based on the fact that your body has an internal logic that determines how fat or thin you will be at any given time. The way to lose weight is not to struggle or to force yourself to lose weight but to understand this internal logic and work with it so that your body wants to be thinner.

When your body wants to be thinner, weightloss is inevitable and becomes automatic and effortless. You simply crave less food, you crave healthier foods, your metabolism speeds up and you become very efficient at burning fat, just like a naturally thin person. And that's the real transformation - to transform yourself into a naturally thin person, so that you can eat whatever you want whenever you want and still be thin, fit and vibrantly healthy.

The book is 252 pages and comes with a soothing, yet extremely effective guided visualization CD which helps you reach your goal of a healthy, slim body.

Mostly people need a good and appealing incentive to take action, in order to be fit. I'd say any method that does this is positive, if it promotes healthy behaviors.

That said, my experience is that the hardest isn't convincing people to lose weight or eating healthy... it is helping them maintain those good habits. I very much respect the people who do muster that willpower in themselves, in order to achieve their goal, knowing that it isn't a walk in the park but that it is doable.

He seems to focus more on the mental side of things on how to succeed rather than heaps of physical work. And really, if you take it seriously and try some of the weird way he helps clear your mind, I'm sure it would be beneficial.

There's also the whole "you need to take your first step before you can run a mile" lesson. It may take some time but if you start out small, you can make something big over time.
Is it something to do with LOA...

Default JOn Gabriel

Hi
I am a little concerned about this. I have purchased the book but when I tried to contact as per the contact page neither the email address or the phone number were correct.
Does this mean this is a scam? Really makes me think that and yet some things in the book really ring true.
