Etanercept cures Alzheimers?

Apparently this drug dramatically relieves the symptoms of Alzheimer's disease within a few minutes for 90% of the people who go on it.

Scientists at the Institute for Neurological Research at the University of California have treated around 50 patients at a private clinic by injecting an anti-arthritic drug, Etanercept, into the spinal column in the neck and then tilting the patients to encourage the drug to flow to the brain.

They claim 90 per cent respond to the treatment, usually within minutes, and have released videos of patients to prove it.

That would be incredible if this ends up working out as an actual approved therapy/medication.

I looked into this a little more because this is an incredible article.

But, what's weird is most of the info about this study was put out in January of '08, and there's hardly any info that suggests that anyone thought this was a "news worthy" story.

That's weird to me, because I'd think people would be all over this type of study.

Anything that yeilds near instant positive results in Alzheimer's patients is insanely awesome news.
