I ended up with 8 splinters in my hand after a spill down my front steps when I tried to catch myself on the wood siding of my building. They are all far enough under the skin that I can't just pull them out with tweezers, but not deep enough to really bother me. Most of them aren't even swollen, they are just a little tender and I can see the splinter in there. Is there any way to get them to come to the surface of my skin without digging around with a needle or cutting my skin open? I don't want to make it any worse!

Worth a try! Thanks for the suggestion. Oh, and can I add, I HATE THE SNOW! I can't wait to move out of this frozen hell hole to a place where they is no random ice lurking around the corner waiting to take me down. |

My own idea: Put a drop of glue on the splinter and pull out when dry. From google: ''If a splinter is embedded but is near the opening, I apply hydrogen peroxide to make the wood swell and push out of the opening. Not that this will do you any good now, you've doubtlessly removed the splinters already, but... "Black Drawing Salve" is what you are looking for. Most drug stores, and health food stores will sell it. One of the most popular brands is PRID. PRID is in a bright orange package. There are, however, many other brands. The chemical name/drug name/scientific name/whatever is, I believe, “Ichthammol”. (We called it Itch Mole as kids)
