Default Possible juice fast, but worried about weight.

Well, I've read a lot of the fasting threads in this forum with interest. It sounds like a really wonderful thing to do, and it's something I've always wanted to try.

The trouble is, I'm not sure I should. I'm 5' 6, and weigh between 100 and 110 lbs. I lose weight really easily (it happens when I'm stressed, when I'm sick, when I'm busy...) and this is when I eat three solid meals a day (a typical day might be porridge with dried fruit for breakfast, salad or whole grain sandwich for lunch, then fish or vegetable stew etc for dinner).

My partner thinks it's a bad idea, but I don't think it would hurt to do it for 3 or 4 days?

Fasting with only water has been used to help very thin people. There are lots of cases of curing vitamin deficiencies and underweight people becoming normal weight after the fast. See this site, Lemonade Diet, and see the quote about Dr Cousins in helping your mental problems.

Mahatma Gandhi was thin and great at fasting. I am thin and I fast. Once I weighed myself before my fast since people would ask if I lost weight. I did not know since I did not have a scale. So I got one and wieghed myslf before starting the water fast. Then 4 days later I weighed myself before breaking the fast. I gained one pound. All I consumed was water and air.
